Weber because I think he's grittier.

Edit: Weber put up better numbers last year (Nashville finished 10th while Florida finished 9th).
Weber's cap is lower.

lol and what has J-Bou done to make it not even close?

J Bou may be a bit more rounded, but Weber is 2 years younger and has had some injuries to deal with in the past. Hes also got a incredible slap shot and is better offensively.

I don't see J bou's defensive game being that much better and I don't ever seeing him putting up 20 goals.

Its amazing how much J-bou gets overrated around here, hes basically a glorified Tom Gilbert. Which isn't a bad thing because hes still a very great defenseman, just not the superstar some make him out to be.

Didn't you realize, people never like to compare stats, just how independently they carried a crappy team to the playoffs.....oh wait.

I think Weber has a higher ceiling and can be counted on for more goals, but Bouwmeester, right now, is better overall. Mainly due to his defensive play.

Weber is no slouch, but when I watch Nashville play I usually don't think, "Hey, Weber plays great defense." I think, "Hey, Nashville plays a stifling game, their goaltending saves their butts, and oh, Weber is a good player with a very good shot."

That said, if I had the choice of one to magically transport to my favorite team, the Blues, it would be Weber. But that doesn't mean he's better right now. He may prove he's better this season, but I don't think it has happened yet.

Jay-Bo is capable of being elite defensively, which after all, as much as HF forgets, is the main responsibility of a defenseman. Weber is really good at what he does, and is better offensively - but there is a reason why he is not the Predators' number 1 defenseman. Defense just isn't his main game.

Flames fan voting for J-Bo. It's very very close. Fuse them together and you get the PERFECT player. Smooth skating, hard hitting, defensively responsible, big and hard slap shot, great first pass, good offensive instincts knowing when to pitch in, etc.

Bouwmeester is more steady defensively right now, thats not debatable in my opinion. Offensively, I got to get the edge to Weber here. Bouwmeester is a proved 15 goals scorer, can get 25-30 assists. On the other hand, Weber got a rocket shot, can score over 20 goals and about the same assist that Bouwmeester can bring.

Bouwmeester is better on the Penality Kill, thats for sure, Weber is a tad more physical.

So I think they are very close. I don't think there is really a gap between the two, pretty much a wash. I would have voted toss-up.

If I had the choice for the Habs, I would take Bouwmeester.

I'd take Weber. Jay-Bo is currently better defensively, but Weber has more offensive potential.

Weber

Better all around skills, more consistent and far tougher which is an essential skill for a NHL Dman. Upside with Weber is higher too.

Yeah ok. It's close but I'll take Webber any day of the week. Webber is much better offensively and is also 2 years younger. Webber finished 8th in points amongst D-men so you can expect him to move into top 5 next season...

I'll take Bouwmeester as we already have a Weber-type player in Phaneuf.

Bouwmeester is quite a bit better defensively. Bouwmeester was Florida's number 1 PK player while Weber wasn't even top-4.

Weber is a bit better offensively. He's deadly on the PP with his shot.

Weber is/will be better offensively
Bouwmeester is/will be better defensively

I just think Bouwmeester is a little more rounded in his game, so I went with him.

Weber is much better defensively than you all are giving him credit for. He's not Phaneuf or Green, he's very good in his own end.

And stop using pk time as a measure of how good defensively he is, we used a pk specialist in Zanon as our top pker along with Hamhuis and I promise Weber is far better defensively than Zanon.

Weber is a big dude that can skate and is a beast down low, not many stronger than him. He also happens to have a great point shot, but please stop with labeling him an offensive defenseman.

I know your a Flames fan, but come on. Really? Homer much?

I'll take Bouwmeester, because I believe he is marginally better defensively, while Weber is marginally better offensively. I think they even out for the most part, but for my team, I take Jaybo.

I think Bouwmeester has tons of offensive potential, maybe as much as Phaneuf. He had more points than both Phaneuf and Weber in the WHL.

However, for whatever reason, I don't think he's been able to develop that part of his game. Maybe he'll be more successful in Calgary than he was in Florida.

His defense is already better than Weber's, and I think in time his offense could be as well.

Well, JBo is already on my team, so I vote for him. I'd welcome Weber any time though.

They are pretty close. Can't go wrong with either of them really. Both have difference weakness and strengths. Their prospective weakness isn't that weak. It'd be a toss up in my mind. Just nice that one is already on my favourite team so its easy to pick which one.

Weber. Better offensively, probably more physical, only slightly worse defensively. And younger.
