I doubt this is true. Sens rumors have included Boyle before, they are ridiculous.

After that press conference do you really think DW is still pursuing? Heater basically said "I want to be important and the center of the team, but I don't want to be pressured about it. Let me play how I want to play and coach around that."

I'm not convinced, especially after the press feasting over the 'C' withdrawal. Doug doesn't strike me as a 'humiliate and deal' kind of GM...

Good on Marleau....He certainly has every right to and I support him 100%.

Heatley requested a trade, gets his wish and then invokes his no trade clause.... so why the heck should Marleau wave his to go somewhere he doesn't want to go, when he didn't doesn't even want to be traded in the first place.

why would you want to stay with a franchise that didnt want you anymore?..I dont believe this bit of Spec because its my opinion if Marleau was asked to waive his ntc, i think he'd go the nabby/nike route and just do it

I believe it. Wilson promised big changes that haven't happened yet, Heatley wants to play somewhere where he will be anonymous relatively speaking and would be a great fit with Thornton, Marleau most likely wants to stay someplace where he can be relatively anonymous and doesn't want to go east because he has no ties anywhere.

No, Wilson hasn't promised big changes, in fact, lately this comments went completely in the other direction, keeping the team as it is, with only some minor changes.

I really doubt it. Just like the last time it was rumoured that he wouldn't waive it.
How do these obscure bloggers get such an info anyway?
As if everyone involved has nothing better to do than tell everyone they meet about trades that are about to happen...

Does it say when it reportedly happened (last week, last month, draft etc...)?

Here's a quote from THN:

"The frustration is overwhelming," Wilson said. "We owe an apology to our fans and our ownership. Everything will be evaluated. There's nothing that's off the table. This is going to be a tough, painful summer, and it should be."

Kicking Marcel Goc and Mike Grier to the curb isn't going to scare the rest of the team too much.

its not about scaring the team, its about putting the best possible team on the ice. grier and goc, were useless. so its good they got rid of them both. moen i can't really say yes or no to, because i don't know what moen would of showed up the one who didn't do nothing in the playoffs or the one that played for anaheim.

i know every one hates when i say this, but the bottom 6 forwards were and probably will still be a problem this off coming season. more so then the top 6 forwards were the problem.

And where does that say there will be big changes as you are saying?

There's no question that the ENTIRE team didn't step up and perform. Who knows. If they'd have gotten some production out of the bottom two lines to tie or win a game, maybe they would've found their stride. There was one goal scored by a player outside of the top 6. That was a goal by Cheechoo who was fed by Thornton and Roenick. Over a series, if you get a couple more goals from the 3rd/4th line players, the series is DRASTICALLY changed.

all this no trade clause business should really teach GMs: stop offering contracts with ntc!!! No matter how good a player seems at a certain point in time, do NOT give him a no trade clause. Team's situations can turn with the drop of a hat. a team can go from contender, to seller dweller in year or less. GM's should just stop handing the dang things out

its the gm's fault. the player is just exercising the rights of his contract

And then the player walks to where he will get a clause . . . and the GM pays more for the replacement, reducing the ability to spend elsewhere.

easy do you think this can be something that is faught at the next cba meetings? players want the olympics, owners don't. most gm's are against no trades, players are all for them.

A lot of people keep saying that Doug Wilson promised big changes... Can anyone provide a direct quote of him saying that?
