we should :

1) give them a slap in the face. let them spend a couple of months in prison for stealing the people of this country.

2) open the constitution and abolish these foolish jobs once and for all. Cant believe the opposition still needs the authorization from the governor to overthrow the government. I didnt vote for michaelle jean, did you ?

if they would at least shut the **** up. Jacques demers senator ... ive had enough.
Isn't it obvious why we need to get "permission" from the Queens representative to get something done in our gov't? I think I'll go outside right now and sing god save the queen.

How absophukinlutely ridiculous is this country?

If Jean Chrétien can become PM and George Bush can become President, then why the hell not? It's not like Senators are useful or anything, Harper just wants people who'll do as they're told.

That's why they choose him ; he can't read , so he will just sign his name where they ask him to do it ; - " put your name here , it 's for the chrismas party "

How much money a senator gets ?

Dissing the last coach who brought us the Cup is heresy. As a true Habs fan, you never, EVER diss a player/coach/administrator who brings us a Cup.

Demers was not a great hockey analyst at RDS in my opinion and lacked professionalism as demonstrated by the infamous "darkest day in Habs history" episode last year. He did have a successful hockey career before moving on to a media role though.

To add that he has great difficulty reading and writing makes me wonder how can he seriously understand complex laws and their political implications having no experience whatsoever in politics??

Is it too much to wish for competent politicians who have at least studied or practice some politics?

Just another example why our unelected senators have no credibility.

What are the prerequisites to become a Senator anyways?
The willingness & ability to nap for most of the day.

I don't think it's that he can't pronounce names. I think he was getting mixed up between the English and French pronunciations.
