Or it sounds like Jagr for Carter.

Isn't Kessel hurt until November or so? Who here is familiar enough with the way LTIR affects cap space to be able to accurately say how that will play into the possibilities of attaining Kessel and fitting him under the cap?
Actually it doesn't, now that I think about it. Teams can't exceed the Cap on any single day during the season.

Widespread reports that the Blueshirts are engaged in active bidding for Boston's Phil Kessel are inaccurate.

I read in the post today that the statment that the Rangers, and Nashville and Tornto being in a bidding war is false.

"Widespread reports that the Blueshirts are engaged in active bidding for Boston's Phil Kessel are inaccurate."

I don't if that means they are trying to work out a deal with them or if that means they aren't involved at all, I don't see us landing Kessel, again unless we can dispose of Redden or Rosival (impossible).

I doubt the Rangers could have landed him anyway, but Brooks is the one reporting it.

The guy makes **** up.

Other reporters around the league have said the Rangers WERE involved.

Brooks likes to write his opinion and then state it as fact.

I don't believe a thing the guy writes.

I look to Zipay and Carp before Brooks. At least Zipay and Carp don't write unless it is factual. And if it is not factual they don't deceive you into thinking it is, they will mention that it is hypothetical or rhetorical.

Yea I know I don't like him either he is a moron but I just thought I'd put it out there, and also like I said there is no way a deal will be done unless a third team is involved becuase the Rangers can't fit Kessel under the cap as currently constituted, and the Bruins wouldn't be able to take Rosival back.

We are not getting Kessel just like we werent getting heatley. We dont have the cap room and we dont have the ability to create the cap room.

No thanks. They would need to take salary back and the most I would be willing to part with is one 1st rounder.

Uhh no.

You do know he won't even play until the winter right? And if he does come back who says it wont be a lingering injury?

Call me suspicious of Kessel being a consistent 30g threat with a bum shoulder (rotator cuff and labrum). I could be wrong, but idk, I'm going to hedge my bets and the Bruins are too seemingly. They don't even want to pay him Krejci (also hurt) money.

So Sather is going to pay a player with no arb rights $5 million per when he won't pay his own player with no arb rights.

Savard deserves 1/2 of whatever Kessel gets because w/o him,Kessel doesn't have the 36 goal season.

Sather gets involved when there appears to be a bargain. Two firsts and a second is hardly a bargain when an offer sheet yields only one first a second and a third with nada going the other way. No doubt that Glen is out of this market at that price. He has become more patient with age. Boston is on the capola hot seat and Burke is adding fuel to the fire. Smart to lay low for now.

This.
But if you guys had the room it would be quite a battle for phil. Toronto, NYR, L.A, AND Nashville.
But we all know how this is going to end. Its another Heatly like saga.
Hes not going to get delt now, its going to roll over to November when he recovers from his injury and his value is at an all time high

Kessel Blockbuster Trade Likely

I know this rumor was thwarted a bit, but i just saw this... Maybe the reporter is speculalting because of the Rangers being rumored in the past. Had to pass it along, for whatever its worth.

Quote:
According to the sources, the deal likely will be finalized within the next week, as four teams are in the running. Toronto and Nashville have made the best offers in talks with B's general manager Peter Chiarelli. Minnesota and the New York Rangers also are in the mix.
