OT: Former King Allison Trying to Make a Comeback

The guy was, at times, dominant and also a dog.

Jason "no heart" Allison is making a comeback? That insurance money from his feigned injury must have run out.

Someone refresh my memory please... Why is Allison being hated..?
My memory about former players lasts about a year....

I remember he had a unique skill that he used every time he was on ice. Being able to "walk" on ice while other players were skating by him...

Give the man some credit, I know I couldn't play hockey all the time if I was always as drunk as he always looks.

Nice.

Yeah, I don't know where he'd be expected to play... Colorado?

The words "my" and "intellectual" should never be used together in any Zad post.

I disagee ... what if Zad actually owned an intellectual. Zad could take him to cocktail parties and the intellectual could wax poetic on a myriad of topics. At the conclusion of which Zad could tell the story about how he came across "my intellectual."

And claim credit for all his statements. The benefits of ownership.

Jason Allison coming back? The money must be running short. I wonder if he still thinks he's Mario Lemieux. Well, this time around I hope he doesn't fake an injury and get caught surfing. It seems like every player in the league has a rumor about them floating around claiming they are heading to Toronto.

The article said he was in good shape and ready to go...2 years ago. He better have his body fat under 10% if all he's had is time since then. If he is in shape I think he makes the Leafs with their collection of centers. Wow, are they terrible down the middle.

You don't need a six pack to play in the NHL. As long as he's below 15% he's fine.

A player at Allison's age? Out of the NHL for several years? Couldn't get up to the speed of most other NHL players even when he was playing?

Yeah, he does need to be below 10% body fat...

He was so damn good though. I don't hate him because before the knee injury, he was the #1 center on perhaps the best line in the league at the time...at least Top-5. I've only had season seats for this decade, but he is the best passer I've seen on the Kings during that time. I loved his game and I think some people forget just how good he was because of injurygate.

That being said, he was never the fastest guy. He missed a lot of time before he came back last time and he wasn't as good. Now he's taken more time off again and is older.

Why is it that Kings fans must hate on former players. When I first came starting following hockey and the Kings he was part of the LAPD line with Palffy and Deadmarsh and they were arguably the best line in the league when healthy. I hope Allison can come back, he was a great playmaker in his day. Now sure he is well his prime and has played in only one of the past 7 seasons but I hope he succeeds.

Kings fans don't hate on all their former players. I defy you to find one person who hates Deadmarsh, Vachon, or Goring just to name a few. People don't like Allison for the reasons listed above.
