Playoff Betting Thread

Well since no one volunteered to do the playoff betting thread, which I can see why as it would take a lot of time. I have decided to try something a little different. This doesn’t require anyone spending all their time calculating points or not sleeping, lol

The sporting news has an online fantasy hockey game for the playoffs, in which you chose a team of players 1 Center, 2 Wingers, 2 Defenders, 1 Goalie, and an extra player. You have 30 million to buy your team, so that if you want to get all the top highly played players you will be left with only a little bit of money for the other ones. It evens out that way, so that you have to try to find surprise players as well as good proven performers. You also have a limited number of trades, and it gives you stats and such on all your players.

I know this is not as habs focused as the betting thread, but maybe if you guys want we can have a min number of habs that each person mush have on his team.

Anyways It's free and I set up a league.

Go and sign up for the Playoff Fantasy Hockey if your interested

PS. Hurry and set your teams up before the playoffs start or you will be a t a disadvantage.

Hey, I'm in. I'm all about the free internet pools! I picked my team and I'm already not happy with it. Oh well, lots of time to change it.
Good idea. Should be fun taunting and talking smack with each other.

I've been playing this hockey pool all season, and trust me it gets intense and interesting. You can be last place and still catch the top guy in no time. There are many tricks(if you can call them that) I've learned and used in this pool, so for you first timers, don't get frustrated if you don't do well in the beginning of the playoff hockey pool, you'll get the hang of it. Read how the scoring system works, and observe who gets more points in a game(hint, hint :p ) and try to focus your money a bit more on those player positions.

I've never played this pool for playoffs, but in the regular season you get 2 trades a week to work with... and for the cheap guys who suck, they can purchase more trades for about a dollar a trade :p .

P.S. Perfect_Gravity do you know how the trades system will work in the playoffs? ie. how many trades do you receive a week; after each round, do you get a chance to trade the guys you have who did not advance to the second round of playoffs?

All I know is that it says 10 trades to start, aftyer that I don't know. Maybe 2 per week like in the regular season???

I played this once last year in the regular season, but I kinda sucked

Ya I looked at the rules and saw that you only get 10 trades, so you have to manage to get players that make it far.

You can go in the "Your Team" page and choose them right away. My advice is to wait until the 5 of april so you know who's gonna be injured and who will play..
You have unlimited trades until 7th of april, and then you have two trades a week maximum. You can pick any player, but you have a tight budget so watch out.
