I would like to check out at least one Trenton game this season.
Maybe a HFBoards group day down there could be in the cards?

Doug Clarkson chooses degree over camp invite

Clarkson said his youger brother, Doug, who attended the Devils' rookie camp in July as an undrafted agent, was invited back by the team for the regular training camp to try out to make the team in Lowell or Trenton, but decided to go to college at Acadia University in Nova Scotia instead.

"He wanted to get his degree," David Clarkson said. "This way, he'll have more time. Some guys develop later than others."

I'm definitely going to some games this year seeing as I'm only about an hour away up here. If anyone wants/plans to go to a game, let me know.

So what's Lowell's line up looking like as of now? With some of those signings like Davidson and Murphy they should be alot better

I don't think we will know since there seems to be alot of signings for Lowell and Trenton this year.

Wait till the season starts and then we will see a lineup.

Well I guess this is the place to post this. :

Surprising to hear that the Devils were the only NHL team interested in him. After all the guy did have a great college career. Hopefully he can make some noise down in the minors.

Quote:
Now that his college career is over, the MSU graduate is on to the next challenge - likely the toughest of them all:

Prove he can play in the National Hockey League, where most goalies are 6-foot or taller and the shortest last season stood 5-foot-10.

"I think it's an attainable goal. I just want the opportunity to play and then take advantage of it by playing well,'' said Lerg, who will start his pro career in the New Jersey Devils organization.

I can't wait for the Lowell Devils to start up, feels like a long off season. I hope this is not the Devils last year in Lowell. Hopefully some of the swedes can help us score some goals this year.

If you're talking about Tedenby and Josefson, it's unlikely since they're playing in Sweden this year.

Hopefully he turns into the next Darren Pang. Lerg was a beast in college, I'm interested to see if he can translate that to the next level and make it to the NHL.

After successfully rehabbing his right knee from surgery in March for a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), Lerg last week tore the ACL in his left knee.

Instead of reporting to the New Jersey Devils training camp today, Lerg will have surgery on his injured knee Wednesday.
Quote:
Lerg, who ended a storied four-year Spartan career in March, signed a free-agent contract with the Devils organization in July, but it was set to become active only after he passed a physical at training camp.

Lerg said the Devils told him they still want him to play in their system.

"I talked to the scouting director and assistant general manager and both said that they're excited about working with me and bringing me into the organization,'' Lerg said. "They still want to give me a chance to show that I could play at that level.''

Damn, that sucks for Lerg.

Doesn't sound too promising for the guy. Those are some tough injuries to deal with.

I do as well although my Michigan-fan brother keeps telling me that Lerg isn't actually any good.
