Orr Prediction

I think that Colton Orr can probably get his production up to a career high 22 fighting majors if he tries hard this year. Maybe 3 KOs ?

I think he'll break out and score 5 points this year.

George Parros had similar numbers until he exploded this year scoring 5+5.

if Orr sets a career high, we're making the playoffs.

Not really. he's a terrific fighter, but not an intimidating figure on the ice at all, and not even that good of a checker. Especially lately he seems to have softened a bit. there were games last season where another teams tough guy was taking liberties and Orr did absolutely nothing. And he almost never takes the initiative on the ice to bother another teams star, save a game where he mugged Crosby a few times, but he doesn't nearly do it consistently enough. Perhaps it was Renney keeping him on a leash, but there were times when guys like Shanny, Avery, Mara were more intimidating on the ice than Orr.

What I'm saying is with "staged fights" being cracked down on, Orr's career may be in jeopardy pretty soon. But when he does fight, he's damn entertaining.

wilson will play him on the PP2 line and finally get some toughness in front of the net. no more well seen shots for goalies and no more easy clear outs for defenders.

Can't remember the last heavyweight that I'd consider an adequate checker or "intimidator" in the sense your using it (which seems more like an agitator).

Yea, there hasn't been anyone like a Bob Probert or Dave Brown around in a while. Boogaard almost had that, but isn't nearly as feared as he was before.

And now he'll be on a team with a different philosophy. Orr's going to fight, he's going to do his job. I don't think we care if he does anything else, we just don't wanna see Kaberle, Schenn, Grabovski etc being laid out and everyone on the bench pretends they didn't see it.

He's a useless scrub.

As this great site shows, he was by the worst even strength player in the league.

4 points -10 and a concussion are my predictions. I don't see him fighting that much with this lineup.

Point is? NYR was one of the worst ES teams in the league last season.

Colton Orr will be playing in a different System... there will be different results.

Hmmm...that list also includes guys like Pandolfo, Pahlsson, and Draper who are all known as good defensive players. Meanwhile, according to the same metric, Patrik Berglund, Oshie and Holmstrom are the top even strength players in the league.

because we have so many skilled awsome players we're kinda similar to the detroit redwings where we have 4 lines that can score... or something like that
