2010 ohl draft

Who do you think will be the top picks for the 2010 ohl draft? It's less than a year a way!

Further to the above, I'm sure there are plenty others as these are the ones that I've watched.

There was a 1994 that played up with the 1993's in the Toronto area last season, I can't recall the name. I hear that he will be a top 5 for sure. Anyone know this kid I haven't seen him??

Well I am friends with a man named Jesse Schwartz, he would be a first round draft pick for sure in the OHL but he is not going to play pro hockey yet, he is a smart kid, a kid with lots of friends and wants to take the NCAA route. Look for him in NCAA though.

Matia Marcantuoni. Brendan Gaunce is a 1995, but some feel he is better than Marcantuoin and Koekkoek (the likely top 2 in this draft). Maybe he'll get exceptional status.

2010

The first big weekend just finished (Titans tournament). Some of the names always mentioned up to Major Bantam will still be at the top in seven months but look for lots of changes based on growth and coaching. Size isn't everything but it still counts (for or against). And a quality coach can take a player with GOOD skills and make him much better. Still too early to pick dominant players five or six months down the road. I'm looking forward to seeing this age group in the coming months.

Whats the story on Silk? Why is he not playing in Timmins? The leading scorer from that league last season Darcy Haines ... where was he taken in the draft? I'll reserve judgement on Silk when I see him.

I can assure you Silk will most definately not be a top 5 draft pick in this draft.

I wasn't saying that Silk is not a good prospect. I merely said that leading the GNML in scoring isn't a very good benchmark. eg Haines last year. We will see how this kid looks in a couple of months and form an opinion then.

I see that Rychel is with Belle Tire. Word is that Warren will play the US under 17 card so his kid may drop tp 20th in the draft. I doubt if that will work. (see Leesio). A team could do real well by taking him early then trading him to Windsor and geting an extra 1st rounder the following year

You can't trade 1st round picks or 1st rounders until after there rookie season.

Wrong.

There is a window before the Jan 11 to move first rounders only. You cannot move second rounders who are 16 just firsts.

Northern guys always rate their players too far up. When compared to players there same age playing in Southern Ontario they soon drop into round four or five.

Keep it real by not guessing who is top five this early. At least wait until after the Christmas Tournaments to see who is rounding into form since many start out slow.

Lot of players rocket up the charts in late winter from their progressing play and at the same time many flame out and drop into mid round pics.

Check out Lessio traded by ice dawgs to Shwa. New rule started this year. 1st round pick who will not report can be traded before the season starts and the ice dogs get whatever they trade him for plus a compensetory pick which will be 8th next year overall. Its done this year for the first time, check it out.

Apparently the Kapuskasing team have a couple of young studs. 1st and 2nd in team scoring and both a good size. I'll see them this weekend and report.

Two kids in Kap 16 Lamontange and 68 Delaurier are both good sized forwards with de cent skills and will fit in at a low A or high B in the draft
