Lisin will most likely make the team out of camp no matter how badly you or I or any of us knowledgeable "wanna be" Gm's agree or disagree.

My mention of Kotalik was in fact to clarify why I think he is a member of this team that won't be traded. He was just signed as a UFA and thay is a move that generally is frowned upon.

As far as Higgins goes I was one of the most excited people around here when we got him thinking he was going to be a slightly better Callahan, I can say from what I have seen so far Callahan will outplay Higgins and the rumors of him being somewhat lazy might be true. *gasp*.

Now I will be the first to say let the coach and GM do there jobs and rarely will I claim that I know everything because frankly I don't. But if I had to choose out of Avery, Callahan, and Higgins two players for my club I would be most willing to send Higgins packing.

Will Lisin continue to be a pleasant suprise? I don't know but has he earned minutes in the top 9? Yes I personally think he has. Soi take this for what it's worth... It's an opinion of one fan, therefore either debate it in a respectful manner or ignore it, I am sick of Rangers fans ragging on other Rangers fans because of a difference in opinion. Because until any of us get's paid to make these decisions I feel we are all equal.

This also isn't a post demanding respect or saying I am better than anyone because I never disagree because I am guilty of it too.

But come on we are all here for two reasons, #1 we love hockey and #2 we love the Rangers so how about a little unity and respect amongst ourselves?

Just sayin.

Forgetting about the Lisin debacle for a minute, but I think the mere suggestion of trading someone because of our so-called "logjam" at forward is a bit farfetched. There will surely be injuries and there will certainly be someone who dogs it or plays poorly that will deserve a benching.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but we had far more of a logjam last year, with 3 spare forwards to start the season (Rissmiller, Fritsche, Dawes, Prucha, and Korpedo were all battling for spots at the beginning of the year). It worked itself out just fine. No need to suggest that anyone be traded unless there is a cap issue...

Agreed and I am NOT saying a trade should be done today or tomorrow but frankly the situation is different this year as the forwards are more talented. Either way I am optimistic of this teams potential, and my suggestion is merely food for thought. Also I wouldn't say we are in a great cap situation eithe so freeing up a little room wouldn't be a bad idea it gives the team more flexibility.

Ya but this year it's a logjam of good forwards.

Rozsival looked ok in recent years because Jagr ran the whole darn thing. As soon as Jagr started declining even a little bit the PP went to ****.
I wonder why they lack confidence...

It's not like any team would claim him, anyway.

Well its preseason and this will change a lot I am sure. I guess this is what the games are for.

I would think Grachev is out and Avery is in that spot. Although I would rather see Drury to the wing, Anisimov C that line...........Boyle C the 4th with Voros on his arse

uhhh hahaha

At any rate this was the move most of us expected. Let's see what MDZ has in his first 9 games.

Sucks for Bobby...he played pretty well, just wasn't as dynamic as Gilroy and Del Zotto. However, he could be up again real quick if Del Zotto struggles once the regular season starts

I really like Sangs, very impressed with his defense. How the hell was that ever a knock on him? Unless he really improved this past year.

I have a feeling we'll see Sangs if DZ doesn't stick around, or if the defense is really struggling at their own end of the ice. Sangs can definitely provide more defensive stability than MDZ or Gilroy.

Torts wants to carry 21-22 players.

Grachev will likely be re-asssigned soon...

I would imagine Grachev is down after the game and then the team is set. No pt to have more than 1 F Spare and 1 D spare

Unless Semenov is terrible 2nite or someone is grabbed from waivers that is much better then he will sign this week for one year cheap

My sense is the Rangers are still hoping to bring in another established but salary-cap friendly defenseman
http://njmg.typepad.com/rangersblog/...-hartford.html

What do you think Messier was doing watching the Stars on Tuesday?

Also,it would not be surprise if the Rangers moved a NHL contract for a pick or a prospect to open up some room. The Flyers did that yesterday in their trade with Nashville.

I wish we could move roszival for a cheap defenseman or just for a draft pick and take on salary that is a couple million less than his. Honestly, I'd rather have 3 rookie defenseman play at this point, roszival and redden have been terrible
