Nice, I can see him becoming the Islanders' version of David Clarkson.

Agreed. Or a poor man's Malone. He showed he can score without Stamkos last year, hits like a truck, and can in the middle/lower heavy-weight class. He could be an ideal third line winger or someone who can ride shotgun next to a star as a deterent and grinder.

Malone is a very good comparison. Can't wait for this guy!

It was an ELC (entry level contract)! The Isles are far from being a big market team, and have a payroll with plenty (over 10 million) of space. The Isles problem is the 50 contract limit which I believe they are close to max if not at 50. But Martin's salary won't even count towards the big club unless he has a stunning camp and makes the team

Nice. I effing loved watching this kid play in Sarnia. I once watched him get into a fight, then come to the bench and get his face stitched up (i was sitting on the side of the players bench). Then he went back out next shift, and got in another fight and tuned some kid. Then he went out next shift and scored a goal.. Blood all over his Sting jersey. What a kid.. Hope he makes her to the pros.

Looking forward to seeing him bang bodies and crash the net for the big club sometime. I want to turn him into our homegrown Aaron Asham.
