What a bunch of crap. It's like they used everything that was wrong last year to grade the upcoming year. It's a completely different situation.

Brings back memories of the 2002-03 season when SI picked the Lightning to finish 30th and then they won the division and thus placed 3rd overall before winning their first ever playoff series against Washington. Can we hope for a similar result?

Meh, you'll hear nothing bad about canadian teams, no matter the problems. (See: Ottawa, Heatley)

Call it Balsillie syndrome. CANADIAN TEAMS NEVER DO WRONG.

Just wondering if you realize you just said the equivalent to

"They don’t think outside Florida"

"Or outside Miami/Sunrise."

Yes, I do realize that. Really, TSN has been nothing but Toronto/Hamilton for the last month or two. I understand they're in the same province, i'm narrowing it down further to say they don't really go outside of those two cities, if you follow me.

I do follow and I agree. and it is not just the past few months it is years. It is actually kind of funny that Ottawa gets less publicity then the Leafs despite the better record the past few seasons. In fact it is pretty amazing that the Leafs can be eliminated from the playoffs but still have more coverage during the playoffs then Canadian teams that actually made it. Examples are the Burke and Sundin sagas. TSN is supposed to stand for The Sports Network but everyone knows the T is really for Toronto. That being said they are still in my opinion the best sports news outlet in Canada. How sad is that?

The fact that they have Florida and the Kari Let-ten-in lead Thrashers ahead of us proves to me that they have no clue what in the blue hell they are talking about. Why is a Fantasy "expert" doing their preseason rankings anyway?

To be honest, if anyone is going to be negative about this team, I only accept OptimismRestrainer.

Now when you want to see the negative side of this team... that man has it on lockdown.

I fully expect him to to say we are ranked 4 spots higher then we should be in this ranking.

Haha, me too. I'm betting we end up 6th or 7th in the East if our core stays healthy...

Predictions are pretty worthless anyway. There were people picking playoffs last year because of all the moves made and they imploded. Let's face it, even with all the improvements on the blueline and hopefully improvements in health, it's still a team that's bottomed out the last two years and has to earn respect back. Hopefully they make TSN look foolish with this prediction.
