Cammalleri ready to get Canadiens back on top

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=4...id=DL|NHL|Home

Quote:
"This is a really amazing opportunity," Cammalleri said. "We have a chance to make our own stamp on this team and really form our own identity. Sure it will take a bit of time to get used to each other, but I think this is pretty exciting. Obviously last season there were some tough times here and some things off the ice they went through but that's in the past now and we can help this team move forward."
Quote:
"I really like the blend of players on our roster so I'm sure no matter what Jacques does with lines, we can blend in and find our roles," he said. "I'm excited to get things going and I like our chances and I think we can turn this around."

Good to see some optimism. Maybe his standards just aren't very high having played most of his career for LA.

It would be nice to hear from some of our other players though, lol. This is like the 10th media interview for Cammy this summer.

I was thinking the same thing, but I guess Cammy is the biggest name we brought in and there's gotta be alot of demand for him by the media.

Also, he seems to have such a great attitude about everything. It's kind of a "breath of fresh air" from all the stuff usually surrounding this organization. I can not wait for the season to get under way for him to take to the ice!!

Yeah, a lot of the questions are the same and are answered pretty much the same too.

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/

click on "Les nouveaux s'entrainent à Brossard" It's a short video with Cammalleri, Gomez and Gill in it. You get to see them on the ice in the practice jersey.

Why do I feel like I've read this interview 3 or 4 times already.

This is great, we added a whole bunch of good, positive guys to the locker room

Good job Gainey. Wait till the habs start winning and then the media starts praising the habs while all they're doing now is criticizing them

PLeks training early means a lot too. I don't know what we do if he actually follows through and tears it up.

I'm really liking Cammalleri, even more than I already did. Hopefully this reflects on the other players, and he can become a leader on this team.

I would guess that he's spending his summer back home in the Czech Republic, which is why we haven't heard from him.

I'm sure we'll see him very soon. Actually, we will, considering that training camp is only a week or so away

i remember a few seasons ago he was leading the league in goals before he got injured( i think it was 07-08). that was really the first i'd heard of him and i was surprised at how talented he looked. since then i've wanted him on the habs.

his signing was the one that made me excited... i couldnt believe that gainey landed the highest scoring UFA.

in all his interviews he sounds like a professional, which is what we need. from what ive read this summer he seem to have a great attitude and i think he deserves an A and maybe he'll compete for the C.

I'd laugh if Spacek just pulls a Kilger and doesn't show up.

I wouldn't, but I guess we could trade for Babchuk.

Q: How are you spending your summer? Where are you going on holiday?

A: I started my summer holidays earlier than I would have liked when the Sabres missed the playoffs. I took my family to the Bahamas for a while and then we came back to Europe, where we moved into a new house in Rokycany. So I was quite busy with the move. But we have had the time to relax a bit with family and friends.
He should've been spending it in Montreal learning French

I don't know why people are so impressed with him. Any player who is interviewed pretty much says the same things and as a new player he can't really be anything but positive about the new experience.

What will really matter is what he'll say when things go wrong, and how he'll play of course..
