Changes to local lineup on WDFN

http://freep.com/article/20090901/SP...h-local-talent

Great news to have a second sports talk station back in Detroit. Say what you want about Baligian but I was becoming a big fan of his show before it was taken off the air in January. I really like the combo of Shepard and Sharp as their new afternoon drive show. Sharp pisses a lot of people off but that makes for good radio. Valenti and Foster are only fun to listen to during football season so I'll bounce between those two.

I'm going to be away from a radio and computer all this week most likely but I'll be excited to listen to WDFN again as a change from listen to WXYT and I find myself listening to a lot of FSR via podcast since I really shouldn't be streaming radio over the web in the office.

WXYT is great from 6am-2pm but unbearable afterwards.

I cannot stand Valenti and Foster, and Pat Caputo makes me want to vomit half the time. Foster is a smug ******* and Valenti just screams half the time.

I dont mind the ticket at all. They are a solid cast and actually know a thing or two about hockey once in a blue moon. Your not going to find HFboard-esque prospect talk or in depth conversations because they are for the 'avearge" joe, which is hard for many people to realize.

this is cool news though!

I just cant believe they are paying all that money to Stoney and Wojo to be off the air (unless they reached an out of contact settlement i'm not aware of)

I just hope Kevin Allen will be calling in again! I miss hearing from K.A.

WDFN are morons.
How did they not realize that going 100% national is a huge mistake.

For starters, this area only cares about the Lions. And the only time the national media talks about the Lions is to make fun of them.
So right there you're turning off 95% of your listeners.

Secondly, this area still has a pretty good following for the Wings and Pistons. Again, the national media cares nothing for hockey and unless the story is about Lebron or Kobe, you're not getting much NBA talk.

I'm glad Baligan is back too. Best hockey guy they have. And I like his radio personality too; Off-the-wall and light-hearted.

Besides, I was getting tired of Valente on the Ticket. It gets tiring listening to him rip on callers because their opinion didn't match his. And of course, according to him, he's the smartest guy on the planet so anyone who doesn't share his thoughts are morons.

Glad to see WDFN see the error of their ways.
