Canucks to hold Training Camp and Prospect Tournament(5 Teams) in Penticton, BC

According to TC_Carling

Quote:
Canucks to make special announcement in Penticton tomorrow. Looking forward to trip up there.
Has the location for training camp been announced/reported yet? If not I'm guessing this could be it?

Quote:
The Canucks will stage their training camp in Penticton, beginning Sept. 12 at the South Okanagan Events Centre, The Province has learned.

On Tuesday, the team announced a Wednesday press conference in Penticton to make an unspecified announcement attended by assistant GM Laurence Gilman and senior advisor to the GM Stan Smyl.

Would make sense to me. Fits the mold of past training camps being in BC but not in Vancouver. It's good they promote the Canucks as BC's team IMHO. As a ticketholder that lives in Vancouver I can honestly say I'm happy going to 1 or 2 pre-season games and I've never spent much time watching training camps. Smaller cities outside of Vancouver really deserve these.

Maybe Kieth will let them touch the cup?

Training camp location makes the most sense, I agree.

Joint announcement with Jim Ballsillie? He has purchased the Canucks and is re-locating them to Penticton.

Anyone else call the fact that Kieth's fiance was an "okanogan" girl long before she said she was from Penticton?

Mike Gillis was on Pratt and Taylor today:
http://www.teamradio.ca/contentfiles...d%20Taylor.mp3

Tomorrow's announcement in Penticton:
More than just concerning training camp - the Canucks will be announcing something new and it involves some other teams (sounds like maybe a tournament of some sort?).

A number of Canucks staff including Gilman have been up there to check out all the facilities and came back with glowing reports. Having camp outside of Vancouver makes it more special for the players. It is a more relaxed setting and the players really enjoy it.

As long as they're all on CDC, I'm good.

It's not a 'pre-season' camp - it's a tourney coming up...See wetcoaster's post.

If you're talking about the quality of the stream, then I can't agree with you. I don't recall any annoying lag at all.

That's awesome, but I find it kind of strange that while the Sharks and Ducks are involved, the Kings aren't.

Great job Gillis and the other GM's. This should be an unreal opportunity for the people of the Interior, and the prospects.
