The problem is you have to get the puck in the oppositions end first.
I realize that dawg, but don't you think Hemsky and Penner are capable of that? I am not bashing Horc in anyway, I know what he brings to the table, and his outscoring numbers are good. I just think Comrie would be a better center for Hemmer.
What matters: he addresses none of the Oilers needs. Unless he is signed for under $1M and is playing on the third line and not stealing what should be Cogs and Gags second line minutes, this is a bad move.
Secondly this team was killed on the PK and in the FO circle last season and Comrie does nothing to address those issues.
Unless there are more moves in the making this team will miss the playoffs with this lineup because they simply have not addressed any of the shortcomings that caused the team to miss last year.
Signing Comrie or signing a checking center is not mutually exclusive.
I don't have a problem with the signing. Hopefully it lights a fire in our other small forwards and gets them off their butts. Otherwise they're outta here.

I'm pretty much ready to quit cheering for this team. We've been nothing but a joke for the last 10 years+, we've had ridiculous issues from the Comrie fiasco, Pronger, Heatley, Lowe/Burke, Penner, continuously missing the playoffs.
This is embarrassing that we've gone ahead and signed Comrie and this will hurt Cogliano/Gagner's development, and its an absolute waste of a roster spot and cap space.
This is infuriating to the 10th degree
