Most of the guys doing the interviews can't really speak english anyways. I think thats why they are constantly whining about the lack of French players. They are scared of being replaced by people who can actually speak both languages.

he said that the 7 millions of viewers that watch hockey games on RDS have the right to hear interview in french by the players but the thing is that on the 7 millions viewers no one care about the interview.

when I watch a hockey game im not like:¨I hope they will speak french after the game¨ I just want my team to win the game. What kind of people care about the post game interview so much

I hope Boivin knocked some sense into the reporters, and that they will stop asking that question over and over and over... again.

BTW that X men, popup is really starting to piss me off

It's good to see people fighting back against the media bs that is going on here. Boivin and Laraque, bravo.

Tssk.....I'm dissapointed...

You exclude Laraque because he might be in and out....However you keep all the others in the 42 ...... weird eh ? There are only about 15 players that will not be "in and out" - 1 goalie, 5 Ds and 3 full lines - out of these 15 2 are Quebecers - that's 13%.

Also - who are the 42 you are refering to ? Cause if you mean the Bulldogs roster - there are guys like Carle, Fortier, Desharnais, Desjardins, Benoit, Massé....

Please make the required corrections,

well no, I said 3/42 and one who'll be in and out

and the 42 is the number pointed out by Boivin, if you want to add the 4 Quebecer or 5 french Canadians in Hamilton then fine but you'll have to add to the 42 figure

As someone pointed out already - it is utterly disgusting to hear Michel Villeneuve talking to Boivin - such hypocrisy is out of this world. Villeneuve spends all his year bashing Boivin and the habs and when in direct interview he sounds like the most fervent supporter and brings arguments to support ideas he spit on one-two days before....

Villeneuve two days ago had a full show on "why did the Habs decide to finish their camp in Ontario - instead of Tremblant ? Treason ! No respect for the fans ! Not encouraging local enterprises" (intrawest is from BC but who cares)

Villeneuve today with Boivin "indeed M Boivin the habs repsect the Quebecers, they tried their best to get Briere and Lecavalier and spend a 1st choice to get Tanguay....."

That guy makes me sick.

OK - I misread - apologies. I thought you were talking about the habs roster. Was actually surprised.

Still 2/42 is 1 in 21 - so it is above the league average.

if technicalities are your forte fine, it doesn't excite me one bit

Pierre Boivin defends the organization on technicalities and I don't like it. It's all fine they invite 20 QMJHL players at the combine and so on but in the end, the result is that there's 3 french Canadians on this team. This is the result of the 5 year plan and there's 3 french Canadian on the team, this is what matters. All the excuses and tries don't matter much to me at this time.

The end result is this.

Briere could have signed here...he chose elsewhere.
Beauchemin could have signed here, he chose elsewhere.
Lecavalier could have signed here, he chose elsewhere.

Gainey gave Marc Denis another shot to prove himself.

Montreal traded for Alex Tanguay, a francophone, they gave up an asset to acquire him.

Montreal offered a contract to Patrice Brisebois one of the worst defensemen I have ever seen, not once, but twice!

Montreal under Gainey traded up to acquire Guillaume Latendresse. Montreal chose Louis Leblanc this year.

Montreal and francophone players are not the problem. Francophone radicals and francophone players are the problem.

I don't blame Gainey for not resigning Brisebois, Boullion, Dandenault and Tanguay(well to a certain extent) considering that no other team wants these players either.

High end francophone players don't want to come here.

Over the 5 year plan, he had minimum 8 Quebecers each year and with that number we never got far aside one year one the players who played major roles were europeans. So yes after a 5 year plan where 1/3rd of our team during that time was francophone we are down to three considering that having a minimum of 8 in the first place didn't work out that well.

All that matters is the cup, no matter what players you have, if that is not a good enough excuse to justify the amount of francophone players on a hockey team, then you are watching the wrong sports, in fact I think your in the wrong field all together.

If you want I'd gladly point a good politics board for you to complain on.
