I honestly believe Theo is going to tear it up. I realize he's been out for awhile and that he's 41...don't care. If nothing else, he'll sport a solid attitude, work ethic, and push the young guys to play harder to earn a spot. If we wears a leaf jersey, i'd be a happy man.

Fair enough. It just seemed a little off topic, and when that starts, everything really goes off the rails between our two fanbases.

I'd wish him the best of luck. Little guy, lived life, been in the dumps, &c. -- always seemed to me like a real person. Be cool to see him in a Flames uni, if it happened.

Moss certainly is the best of the group, having the biggest breakout season of that group with Glencross right after. Hard to say if they'll repeat, but Moss should get a considerable amount of PP time. As for Greentree, he had a fantastic year in the AHL putting up 39 goals (second most behind Giroux's 60) and shoud be gunning for a top-line role. If not, he has a fair amount of size to him and could be a decent third-liner that can score. And I agree, Backlund is likely to play atleast one year in the amatuers, but is considered a man amongst boys at Flames Prospect camp, and should earn himself a call-up if anyone goes down.

Anywaaay though, trying tog et back on topic... if he doesn't go to the Flames I'd love to see him in a Rangers jersey again. I'd totally buy one.

I'd absolutely take Theo...probably sign him at a hell of a bargain and he'll either suck and we can cut him and lose out on 750g's or he plays great.

Either way i've always liked Fluery, im actually excited to see what he can do and what happens with him

I'd love to have him back, but I know that won't happen. Team like Nashville or Florida should be all over this.

If anyone can come back it would be Theo, a team like Atlanta could use him just to put fans in the seats.

I think Jokinen is seen by the Flames are the 'replacement' for Cammalleri... Dawes will replace the 9 goals Lombardi scored for us... and Bertuzzi will be replaced by a combination of Sjostrom, the development of Boyd, added offense from the blueline and the reduction of goals against by not retaining Bertuzzi (you know the bad penalties, untimely giveaways and lackluster defensive play)... if the Flames give Theo a tryout and he makes it... he would likely end up centering th 4th line with Nystrom and Sjostrom... which I wouldn't mind at all

I adressed this in the first section i typed up... but to sum it up Jokinen replaces Cammy, Dawes replaces Lombardi and Bertuzzi is replaced by commitee and improved defensive play

Greentree is a big body who lacks some speed but has pretty good hands... he had a great year with the baby Flames last year... but is everything goes right (and i literally mean everything needs to go right lol) he could be a Knuble type player... I honestly dont have a good feel for his potential at this point... its anywher ebetween top 6 forward and career AHLer... but I lean towards a 3rd line winger with size who will pot you 10-15 goals and score 25-35 points... however this season he will be in Abbotsford if you ask me

I don't understand how Oilers fans can laugh at the Canucks for their contracts when they have Penner and Horcoff who have 2 of the worst contracts in the NHL...

as for what Fleury can do... i dont think anyone has a good idea at all... i think it could be anwhere from a small handful of points to forcing himself into a top 6 role to being a PP specialist... at this point all we've heard (mostly from Sarich and McGrattan) his hands look real good and he is skating very well

-------------

all that said if Fleury gets a tryout and appears in even one preseason game for Calgary... I will be first in line to buy a new Fleury jersey

all 23 goals they provided us with? It's impossible to think that Dawes and Sjostrom paired with bigger roles for Boyd and Nystrom would replace that STAGGERING amount of goals.

Well of course im not going all in on what Sutter said, he does notoriously deceive the media, however Sutter is not the kind of GM to make a move just to pander to the fans. Unless he legitimately believes Theo will be an asset he wont touch a flames uni. I just find it hard to believe that Darryl will, but believe me, i want it to happen, and i would be right behind you buying that Theo Jersey.

Also do not question my being a fan, you do that to alot of people, and you come off as a real ******* doing so. Most of us here are Diehards, so it is really ****ing insulting.

This reinstatement will definitely be the tear-jerking climactic moment of Theron Fleury's biography - book/movie.

Or maybe the final scene could be Fleury scoring his first comeback goal...
How great would it be for it to come in his first game... ok, i just went Disney there at the end.

Hopefully he gets a shot in the NHL again. And hopefully along the way to making it to the NHL he stops in Abbottsford to play a game or two

With Max Talbot out to start the season, the second-line RW job is totally up for grabs. I think the team wants one of the kids to win it, but it wouldn't be a terrible idea to invite Fleury to Penguins camp. I mean, they invited Ryan Bayda, who has no chance to win a top-six job. Maybe Fleury still has something.

He was on the 2002 Olympic team that Mario captained, so maybe there is a connection. Who knows.

They did have a combined 90 points this year, although Bertuzzi is better off gone, he scored some pretty goals but was an overall lazy player and did nothing in the playoffs. It will be interesting to watch JBO and Sutter's impact on your team this year, that's for sure.
