Game By Game Predictions: Islanders @ Bolts.

So I don't create excess threads involving each game, I'll keep each game's predictions in one.

Game one of this series should be interesting. My homer side says that Tampa wins 3-2. My realistic side says the Isles win 2-1 in a nailbiter and give the Bolts an early wakeup call, sending the message that they are for real.

Any thoughts?

Isles win 3-2 with their d-men (Aucoin and Hamrlik), continuing to chip in goals.

Capitals matched up well against Lightnign in the regular season last year too, regular season doesnt get you far in the playoffs.

i like the lightning...maybe my favorite team in the east...but i think the playoffs are won by physical play and grit. the lightning won't go far for the same reason the sens haven't been able to get to the cup(though their chances are better, this year). isles take the series in six.

TB in five. The Isles won't know how to stop St-Louis, Lecavalier, Richards, Modin and Stillman. The regular season is over and those Isles wins don't matter now.

Of course the regular season is over, but in the four games that the Isles and TB have played, St. Louis and Lecavalier were held to only one assist each. Not too shabby...

Forget just matching up well, I'll go one further, before the playoffs last year, Tampa hadn't won in Washington since November of 1998. Not many gave them a chance to win even one game in Washington because of the "statistics"...

Like HF02 said, I just want Thursday to get here already, especially since I'm happy with my seats this year!

The records are all 0-0 now and I think Tortorella with have the Bolts better prepared this time around. If they come out with their forecheck working and no glaring mistakes by the D, 4-2 Lightning. Come on Dingman; now's a good a time as any to show up.

Sorry, afn, if you think we should be more excited. I mean, congratulations on making the playoffs and all, but we're looking forward to meeting Montreal, New Jersey (paybacks!), Ottawa or Toronto in a couple of weeks. It's just hard to get excited for an Islander series. Enjoy yourself, though.

But don't worry, you'll hear the noise come Thursday. By the way, how are those ticket sales going up there?

Pretty good, only a thousand or so tickets available from what I heard through the Isles.

I also understand that as of yesterday the Bolts have a "ton" of tickets remaining...

Isles in 6.
