I enjoyed the clown Mike Wise trying to talk about this on Washington Post Live. "Get some numbers from Ovie, get a hot Russian chick, be gone, whats the problem?" "I trust in Gabby, obviously, he needs to try and get on the ice, he can't do something to do that, so he needs to go"

I don't believe that's the case as I know someone who's kid plays hockey with Nyls' and she spoke recently about seeing Nyls at practice with the kids. She might have been speaking about the past but I didn't hear it that way.

On a more serious note, I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, but does a Russian bound Nylander count against 50 contracts? He does, doesn't he?

He would but it shouldn't be a factor this season.

One of Bouchard, Broda or Kugryshev would be my guess. Decent scoring-line winger prospects but I'm not sure there are spots for all three at the AHL level next season (even if one cuts out a few vets or if a guy like AGordon graduates to the NHL). If I had to single one out I guess Broda unless a team preferred Bouchard due to him being more NHL-ready. That alone isn't going to net a big fish but perhaps as part of a package.

Shouldn't there be a <<TRUE STORY ALERT>> warning?

Is Nylander to an NHL team like Toronto, Detroit totally out of the picture? Heard Burke was in the neighbourhood and stopped in to catch the game at Providence. For some reason I thought Nylander had Toronto as one of the cities he'd go to. Not that Nylander was playing.

Is there a KHL team closer to Sweden than Minsk? It is pretty close to Stockholm 530miles or an hour 20 minutes flying time. That may be an important consideration for waiving the NMC.

He is not tough enough for Mr. Burke.

Yea, but in general Nylander isn't a Burke's type of player. Not to mention Nyl's cap hit.

I'm not worried about proving anything to anyone around here. I'm as regular as a BM.

Yet Burke inquired about Nyls while he was still in Anaheim. This "Burke-type" of player stuff isn't the be all end all decision maker. If Burke needs skilled players, he's not going to turn one aside because he doesn't goon it up.

I think there has already been some criticism of Burke this season for adding so much toughness while adding so little elsewhere.

Tough guys don't intimidate skill players. They get burned by skill players. Guys like Komiserak intimidate skill players if they are on their game, but he's not.

They can beat you up on a good night, but they can't beat you.

Komisarek hasn't been on his game for a few years. So glad GMGM didn't go after him.
