Loki had "the best hands on Windsor"?

Did you see many games live?

Wow.

That is a heck of a statement---I like the sound of it & hope it
turns out to be true.

How many points would JJ have to score...

for you not to care what he does defensively?

40+ points with 12-15 goals and at least one crushing hit per game. But I think he'll show improvement defensively. He just needs to settle down at times and not try to do too much. Rob Blake had the same problem in his younger days.

I would go with 40+. Sort of the same position Lubo was in.

to not care? Mike Green-like numbers. To be forgiving of some mistakes? 40+ points.

he was playing hurt...he played worse in the playoffs than he did all season. How he played in the playoffs isn't indicative of his skill level at all.

Pretty much. Defense wins games people. Still I would like to see him hit double digits in goals with at least 20 assists.

everyone plays hurt in the playoffs. the regular season questions about his ability on the back end were on display in the post season... the fact that he was unable to get it going offensively, regardless of reason or (what some MAY consider) excuse, only served to underline the issue.

i don't think you'd find many people, both very critical of Johnson or not, who are going to question his skill level.

After 82 games, most players are playing hurt to some degree in the playoffs. That doesn't discount that Green is bad at defense, and when you play as many minutes as he does, its going to bite you in the butt eventually, especially in the playoffs.

Here's another good one...

Who scores more goals this season: the 2nd line of Purcell-Stoll-Brown 5-on-5, or Ivanans?

If Jack scores only one goal EVERY time(shift) he steps on the ice then Defense won't matter.

if we thought he had trade value BEFORE!!!! whoooo boy.

But seriously, he's going to have to outscore Ovechkin for me not to really care, and even then. If the guy is going end to end and scores half the time, but gives up the puck a lot and creates odd man rushes and breakaways for the other team, that's simply not acceptable.

I'd like Jack to score a lot of points, but I care far more how many points our scoring line forwards are putting up. It's their job first and foremost to score goals.

With Kyle Quincey amassing 30+ points last season, I think it is definitely within Jack's abilities to rack up 40+ points. The trick is getting that puck through on net. That's how Quincey got most of his points, rebounds from getting his shot on net.

I mean I care what Jack does defensively... But I think realistically and a season he can have is something like this...

12 goals - 31 assists - 43 pts 98 pm's and -1... I think something like that would be a very good year for Jack....

That'll be a dead heat.

No one has yet mentioned how important it is that Jack is not paired up with Greene who would be constantly be throwing Jack grenades in his own end. Sure Jack could definitely improve his positioning but if he gets confidence early on he'll be much better defensively as well. I hope he pots atleast 45pts.

He would have to lead the team in goals and/or points.

And play forward.

Then I wouldn't care about his D.

It wasn't but a few weeks ago that half the board had JJ-Greene as a pairing in their mock line-ups. Kind of shocking, considering they sucked as much suck as suck can suck whenever they played together. Just goes to show how for so many, the team in their head is more important than the team in front of their eyes.

But then again, these are the same people who are convinced that Frolov won't get enough ice time on the "3rd line".
