That's our lineup? This game's going to be a long one.

The third line should also be our first line, but replace Tambellini with Moulson or Smith.

Apparently he was never in plans for this game, and according to Botta (Isles beat writer who was their former PR guy), he's feeling under-the-weather.

I understand if he's under the weather...but not in the plans originally? That i dont get. Look at Stamkos last year and how long it took him to get comfortable in the NHL...over half the season. You'd think they'd want to get him into game action as soon as possible so he's as comfortable as possible by the time the season kicks off. Seems like faulty handling to me.

He's going to play Wed vs Edmonton, which incidentally will be streamed live via the Oilers website

Um I believe he had the flu for 2 days or something like that. Even if they had plans to play him, bet it would be better to keep him out for a few days until Weds.

That's a normal lineup for a September 14th game.

This game is more of a camp interruption than anything else. These guys have been together for two days. It's best for the core guys to stay and train with the staff than fly to northern BC for a gimmicky game against another team's minor leaguers and rookies.

MSG+ at 10:30. It's going to be on a 1/2 hour delay.

I know the Isles did a couple years ago for an Isles/Rangers preseason game.

Meh, it's just the preseason. I just want to watch some Islander hockey!

Before I forget did anyone else see Okposo during his interview? Holy crap did he get huge! He has to way somewhere around 215lbs. Nobody's standing in the way of this kid this season.

Veteran group (including Tavares) is a bit re-shuffled now. Instead of skating with Weight and Hunter like the previous two days, Tavares is now working with Weight and Bergenheim.

http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey...etro-1.1449818

DiPietro, who has been skating in full gear and taking shots at the rink for 20-30 minutes a day there, looked pretty sharp.

He did some creasework for about five minutes to warm up, then faced shots from both Maharaj and rehabbing d-man Brett Westgarth at varying angles--from the top of both circles and just inside the blue line.

Hey guys. Any ideas on who will play vs. the Oilers tomorrow? It'd obviously be great to see Tavares (I want to see him play against his buddy Gagner), but I'm really hoping we get a chance to say goodbye to Roli.

No clue, but I would probably guess that Roloson may dress for the game. Our AHL goalies split last night (Munroe and Lawson).

Botta is reporting that Nielsen is on the way back to NY to get his knee examined. And so it begins.
