Not pleased. I can't believe he was able to get exactly what he wanted... basically. Hope Heatley is cursed and will bring losses wherever he goes.

Sens are better off to be rid of him and it's smart of Murray to be done with him before camp starts. Less distraction.

Michalek is the centrepeice but it feels like Heatley had Murray over the barrel a bit.

Murray should have made him sit out.

I don't think they were.

It's not as bad as what Boston got for J.Thornton, and Heatley's value dropped quite a lot when he said he wanted out.

IMO Michalek is a young and good player and they won't be disappointed with him.

Or Setoguchi instead of Cheechoo.

the only way i see this being a good deal for ottawa is if cheechoo re-start to produce.

if he doesn't... it's pretty much one of the best winger in the league for michalek and a 3 million/year contract for another 2 years.

Once Heatley made it public he wanted to be traded, that dropped his value. It's a solid return for a player who publicly wanted out.

That's why this guy is a selfish POS. However, he would be a very good pick in any hockey pool.

what else do you expect when the player publicly puts you on the spot?

I think the deal is fair both ways. Michalek is good, Cheechoo provides secondary scoring...and a 2nd....

not bad.

Strictly on Paper, Ottawa got really screwed over.

In reality, Heatley would under-perform and put a tainted look on the Sens. Kovalev and Spezza are the new poster boys there. Mikhailek and Cheechoo will be the 2ndary scoring.

the 2nd however should have been a 1st. San Jose got the best part of the deal obviously, unless Heatley under-preforms or pulls another "I want out" stunt.

Wow, ****ing SJ after getting Thornton gift wrapped by Boston, now they get Heatley... the perfect match for Big Joe.

The good news is that Big Joe still chock in the PO and whining Dan never won anything.

Michalek is a good player. Should get 25 goals. Maybe more with Spezza,

Ottawa has a terribly weak centree position i thought they would get a centre in return.

Spezza
Fisher
Kelly
Bass

Heatley said his camp didn't make it public.

Either way, he's awesome.
