What happened to the Canes, by the way? They look awful against nearly everyone.
They are growing old, simple as that. They have Staal and Ward and Sutter is trying to make a name for himself, but it was only a matter of time until the old guard of Brind'Amour and Whitney would fall to their age. They are only behind the Red Wings in average player age and they simply don't have any young key players waiting in the weeds that are NHL ready.
In the book, Harbaugh said what Reid and his program stand for "is the opposite of what the Cowboys stand for. The Cowboys are the star system. It's all about building around individuals first and collecting great players.
