Kolb apologists still exist? I thought they had become extinct by now.

I thought that was a disrespectful call on his part, why up 38-10 do you go for it on 4th down? To pump Kolb's morale? Stroke that ego? I dont know very questionable call.

To keep him on the field since it's always 3 and out.

I've never bought into that. continue to run your offense. It's not the Eagles job to stop themselves.

Vaughn Hebron just said he "doesnt see him as an NFL quarterback" about Kevin Kolb. Called for AJ to return

I give credit to Happ but I am not going to go over the moon for him. I don't let my emotions decide how I evaluate a player. People look too quickly at the latest minor success or sorrow and elevate their expectations to unattainable levels. I think Happ is/was ROY but I still don't see him better than a 3 at best. Kolb I don't see as good but I don't see as trash yet. There isn't enough there for me to evaluate it properly.

I enjoy Jake Delhomme's absolute fail a lot. Oh, and it's Captain Munnerling.

Thats what Special Teams is for. If its 3rd and goal at the 1 go for it. 4th and goal at the 1? take the 3.

My thoughts on the game
- Kevin Kolb is ****ing terrible
- Mike Vick must be very happy with Kolb sucking and McNabb hurtin
- The defense looked horrible on that first drive, then locked it down
- The defense was incredible in this game
- The offense was lackluster IMO

You just love being different don't you... Look Kolb just has looked mediocre at best when he's been out there. This is his third season in the league and he's thrown 0 td's to the Eagles and I'm pretty sure he's thrown 2 or 3 to the opposition. He got plenty of reps during preseason and practice as the backup, he's seen time on the field with Donovan being hurt (or pulled like in the Ravens game), it's time he showed something. And he hasn't. He has shown NOTHING.

Defending young quarterbacks that might need time to settle into the league is one thing, but Kolb hasn't even shown flashes of talent. It's time for him to step up before giving him the benefit of the doubt again.

D-Gunn is hearing 2-4 weeks for McNabb. Andy said he will "possibly" play. Playing the Saints next week will be an absolute shootout, so it may either favor a wide-open game plan, or hurt because he can't put drives together. If Kolb plays, he gets to play a defense notorious for giving up points. The Saints just gave up 27 to the Lions and rookie Matthew Stafford.

If Feeley would come back for a week, I'd bring him in to play the Saints. He can manage a game much better, and it shouldn't take much to put up points on the Saints. He can make the throws, and let Westbrook, Shady, D-Jack, and co. do the rest.

I agree. Feeley has shown he can manage a game and win. Kolb has shown.... nothing. If we were rebuilding I'd say give Kolb a shot but since we're supposedly serious contenders we gotta go with the proven quantity.

I can't wait to see what Kolb does next week with an actual game plan and practicing with the first team. I am sorry coming in at the half is way different then practicing all week to be a starter. This will way more accurately gauge his talent.

Hell, AJ Feeley almost beat the unbeatable New England Patriots. If they hadn't differed from what had worked the entire game and kept throwing slants inside instead of outside, we might have beaten them.

Kolb versus Drew Brees.

Yeah, good luck with that. But, if McNabb is healthy enough to be effective it could be one of the most entertaining games of the season.

watching the US Open and they said McNabb has cracked ribs. Coming from the US Open commentators so who knows

I mean its a given he gets hurt at least once a year but why did it have to be the first week. That Vick signing is looking better and better

It's better he gets hurt now since we're facing New Orleans(good but not great), and KC instead of later in the season like in weeks 8-14 where our only game you could call easy is against the Redskins. Throw in the fact that Vick will be back for the KC game, this isn't that bad.

Re-signing AJ is a given. With McNabb out and Vick ineligible, it's not like we can go into the game with only one quarterback. I'd expect them to re-sign AJ and probably some other practice squad scrub as a plan C.

The real question is, does Kolb get the start or does AJ?

Andy Reid shows "faith" in Kolb, he gets the start, but doesn't play well. A.J. is a guy who can slide right into the offense. He's not creative, he's a cookie-cutter QB, but he's the right fit for what we run, and thus a better backup. Kolb really isn't NFL caliber yet. And might never be. He hasn't once excited me the way that most NFL QBs do once every drive.
