My prediction: 3-1 Sharks. Each of San Jose's top three lines scores one goal. (At least I hope so).

Patty Ice XXX: Do you hand out SNOGs on these threads too, or do we have to predict on the Sharks boards for them?

X, You provide some great info on the prospects board.

Having said that, I think the Blues will take it in 6.

I think that Sharks goaltending will outlast Osgood in this series.

SNOGs?

sharks win the first one big, set the tone for the series - nabokov stones some of the blues' big guns in the first ten minutes, ekman gets two as the sharks take it 3 to 1. shark penalty kill is their strong point in this game, every time st. louis gets momentum and forces a penalty, the sj pk comes in and torpedoes them. sharks' first goal comes immediately after a strong pk.

Does anyone on either side know the status of Barret Jackman? I know he was out for the regular season, but anything goes in the playoffs (I'm still hoping for the miraculous return of Big Al).

Regardless, I say Doug Weight comes out of his invisible shell and does what he did last playoffs and goes gangbusters (1G and 2A in game 1), but the Sharks are able to compete.

3-2 Blues 2OT

Blues:
Mellanby (GWG), Weight, Tkachuk

Sharks:
Cheechoo, Stuart

How's that for a prediction!

Oddly, with the game at the Tank, I feel SJ will pull this one out.

Sharks 4 St. Louis 3

Doug Wieght is again a nemesis to us...and will be all series.

Patty Marleau comes back from the shadows and gets a goal.

Nabby looks OK as does Osgood.

Game 2 ought to be even more interesting with a 12 pm start

I think this series has the most potential for a sweep, with the Sharks coming out on top. I get the impression that a lot of people don't realize how good this Sharks team actually is. This is going to be Nabokov's coming out party and he's gonna show what he's got!

Can we just start this Tuesday? Thursday seems too far away.

If the Blues aren't in SJ yet, I can buy some Blues jerseys and get a team together to play the Sharks

This series is the hardest for me to get a read on. I mean SJ is the better team, but the Blues have more experience and were expected to be the better team.

SJ rolls 4 awesome lines and has so many weapons, but the Blues have the better top end talent with Pronger. Tkachuk, Demitra, Weight.

If I had to make a prediction I'd say SJ in 6 or 7. But the Blues winning in 5 or 6 wouldn't shock me either.

Game 1 is huge for SJ, if they lose Game 1 at home, it gives the Blues home ice and I'm sure some doubt starts to enter the Sharks minds, which the veteran laden Blues would take advantage of.

Sharks win 3-1 on 3 goals from the McCauley line.

Doug Weight gets kicked out of the playoffs after Harvey puts a quasi-knee into Weight and no penalty is called. Weight comes back 5 minutes later, and jumps Harvey starting with a cross check to the face. Weight gets 39 PIMS, including a match.

Pronger is booed on every possession. Just like in the last series these two played, a Shark is assigned to bait him, and he spazzes and takes about a zillion penalties.

Nice little rivalry going here. 3rd time these teams have played in 5 seasons.

Who can ever forget 00, Blues are the Presidents Trophy winners.

Sharks up 3 games to 1 in the series, Blues battle back to force a game 7, and then Roman Turek has his meltdown, including that awful Owen Nolan goal from center ice and SJ takes the series.

Teams played again the next season and the Blues avenged the loss, beating SJ in 6 games.

Funny, it did had the opposite effect on me. I gained a ton of respect for Doug Weight.

Bryan Marchment is a talentless, worthless thug whos knee on knee hits had done too much harm, about time soneone stood up to him.

Correct me if I'm wrong but..

I think I remember Weight cross checking Davison in the face earlier this season.

However I don't blame him for his actions against Marchment. Anybody remember Marchment's knee that put Weight out for a while?

Yeah, how dare he fight him face to face.
It would have been the honorable thing to do to knee him.

That got more of a reaction than I thought it would.

Seriously, though, Weight didn't fight Marchment face to face. He came up from behind, two hand chopped Marchment's legs a couple times, circled around him cross checked him to the face, and then proceeded to "Bertuzzi" Marchment while Marchment was on the ground. Say what you will about Marchment being a goon, but what Weight did was not exactly within the code of hockey ethics.

True I saw the game from a teal tinted window....so I took Marchments side.

Like Los said.....Weight did pull a Bertuzzi and didnt fight Brian face to face like some said. IT was dirty both ways I guess.
