Taylor Beck makes it 1-0, assisted by Stromberg and Vandall.

Beck is making a name for himself this training camp, I have to say.

He's too young. Can only play in Nashville or Guelph.

God I hate that rule. At least he will develop in Juniors.

I do to, but that's a Canadian Hockey League rule for Canadians ... I believe O'Sullivan skirted that rule a few years ago ... but then again he's American

I can understand the rule...the CHL is a money making vehicle...it wouldn't really be fair to have their top talent poached away every single year, and I can see the players union not being crazy about it as well...as the influx of highly talented youngsters in the minors would mean places being taken. Overall, not a big deal IMO...though you'd see the college ranks start losing a lot of players as well, with kids wanting to take the even quicker route.

Scoring change on the second goal:

Spaling(Ma. Santorelli, Wilson)

Never been a fan of the juniors as a whole. It's great for producing hockey players, and only hockey players. For those who do pass the meat grinder to hell with them.

Pickard finishes his half with a shutout, Smith coming in now.

Cue the opening of the floodgates

3-0 was the final. No update on final goal other than it was an empty netter...

We also won an 8 round shootout, after the game ended. Waiting on details on that.

So basically, all our offense over the two games came from the Spaling Wilson Beck line.

Here are the noteworthy (statistically speaking) performers from the rookie games:

Jonathon Blum - 1 assist, 7 SOG, +3
Nick Spaling - 2 goals, 1 assist, 8 SOG, +4
Colin Wilson - 2 goals, 1 assist, 5 SOG, +4
Mark Santorelli - 2 assists, 5 SOG, +3
Charles-Olivier Roussel - 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 SOG, +2
Taylor Beck - 1 goal, 2 assists, 6 SOG, +3

And the inaugural "Who The Hell Was That?!" Award goes to Arvid Strömberg, with 1 assist, 5 shots on goal, and a +1 rating. A respectable outing for an 18-year-old Swedish kid.

Glad to see Wilson doing well (with the rookies, at least).
