why not make 19 on ppv if the only two options are not on tv vs ppv

and whats really hilarious is that over half the ppv games are gonna be the ones that networks would be fighting each other to get

Who knows, there could be a variety of reasons. 16/19 PPV games is a heck of a lot, and it's possible that getting the resources to make it work isn't as easy as some here might think.

They could also be leaving those days open in case a network like TSN2 could pick them up later on.

You will be blacked out and forced to order the PPV. I live in PA, SK and I've Center Ice the last 5 years. I've probably ordered 75% of the PPV's in that time. Same goes for Phlegm's games.

It sucks that we're considered to be in their region and yet BC is not.

Sportsnet is actually 41 games. One of them is a Flames broadcast.

That sucks. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to stomach a Peter Lombardious, Roger Millions Flames love fest for 3 hours.

The good news out here on the Island is out PPV costs (82/$199) $2.42 per game.

Ya. We get screwed. They should really have a package that includes all the games regardless if you live in the market or not. Why should I have to pay 150 bucks more than you to get the same package?

It's ridiculous. The entire point of the markets/blackouts is to encourage people to cheer for their local team, but it's made it more expensive.

I also don't buy the notions that the Oilers don't make money from PPV's and that they choose the games after CBC, TSN and Sportsnet have picked through the schedule. Canadian companies aren't taking a pass on broadcasting a leafs game.

It's surprising this thread isn't a lot longer with complaints. What in the last three seasons have made the Oilers worth paying more to see in an economic recession? At least it will be good for the pubs.

The only people they might have an ear for would be the season ticket holder. The rest of us are just voices in the wilderness.

Of course they don't. It's not liek last season when the Phoenix/ Anderson retirement night just happened to get picked up as a PPV game. They knew that was gonna be retirement night and picked it as a PPV before anyone else could pick games.

Not going to happen. There are only 5 away games on the PPV schedule.

There is no reason for me to gripe.

So its 199.99 for the 16 PPV games as a package....

Absolutely pathetic. It's more expensive to see 16 Oiler games than it is to get NHL center ice.

This is the worst tv schedule for hockey in the modern era. Or at least in recent memory. Someone dropped the ball on this one.

Here's the PPV link and I'm not happy, now the better half gets a, u-owe-me-1, ! ! ! They'd better throw-in a preseason or 3. Video streaming just doesn't cut it.

I might resign myself to watching, So You Think Can Dance Canada on CTV then the American version which is being prime-timed this fall. Plus there's the Olympics. Sun Spot vacations are really reasonably priced and looking better-n-better about right now. Not throwing-in some preseason, home and/or away, games is just plain dumb.

Allan just browned-out to 40 Watt - someone's asleep at the switch.

Official schedule, including Sportsnet games is up on the Oilers site.

http://oilers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?...twt-nhl_oilers

Good news:
80 Oilers games will be broadcast this year, including 40 on Sportsnet West. An additional two games will be available on edmontonoilers.com, ensuring the full season is available for viewing.

Glad that I will be able to watch them all somehow.

That's deplorable that our only Big-4 league team isn't available for us to watch all 82 games on my tv.

I'll be boycotting the PPV this year.
