Colin Smith

I was just wondering what everyones thoughts are of him. He got a taste last year playing a few games with Kamloops as a 15 year old. He was a 1st round pick in the Bantam draft. What is his upside? Where does he stand at this point looking forward to the 2011 draft?

he is great offensive player, he will put up lots of points in the WHL, i can see him being a good prospect for the 2011 draft, like 2nd round IMO. I really liked him the few times i saw him.

There's too little talk about this kid who's leading the WHL in scoring. Colorado drafted Smith in the 7th round this past draft. Clearly he has talent but why was he overlooked in the draft once and in the second time went only in the 7th round? Is he a legitimate NHL prospect or is there something in his game that will hold him from making it to the NHL?

he is small on the ice(has him listed as 5'11 175lbs but that is quite an exaggeration)... He was pretty good last season but never really a "game changing threat". This year now, he is a dominating scoring threat every time he is on the ice. They got it wrong inviting JC Lipon to the world junior camp instead of Colin Smith. Its because of Smith why Lipon is having such a successful season with the Blazers in my opinion.

Oilers invited him to their prospect camp last year, I would have liked to see them pick him up with a later draft pick
