Add 1+1 to his totals this afternoon in a 3-2 loss to Hamilton. It sure looks like he's settling in nicely after a really tough start to the season with the injuries and all...
18 points for the month. Also 18 points in his last 13 games!
Wilson with another power play goal, and an assist tonight. Looked fast and strong and made some incredible plays! Good to see him with so much consistency.
Admirals got down early, Wilson goal made it 2 - 1 but Muller took a penalty and Hamilton went up 3 - 1.
Pulled Dekanich with just over 3 minutes left, Jessiman scored. Had lots of shots to tie it up, but just could not bury it! Great effort. Nice to have Spaling and Thuerreson back
Note: Wilson 7 goals 13 assists in last 15 games
Smith says: “I think for me, (it’s) being more precise in my movement,” Smith said. “I think I kind of get sloppy in the net sometimes. I don’t have full control over my body. Sometimes it feels like I’m flailing. For me to become a better goalie it would be to have more control over my movement and my technique.”
That above quote sums his play up---pretty solid on the initial shot, positionally sound early, but can struggle when things get scrambly around the net. I think alot is just needing to get physically stronger so he can be more efficient/direct in his motions. And he's just 20 years old.
Wilson with a goal and two assists tonight at home vs Texas. Ads win 5-1. All of Wilson's points were pp so he was even on plus minus. One pp was when he was hooked down to the ice as he brought the puck into the zone. Named first star.
Spaling (2 pts), Santorelli, Sulzer (2 pts) and Grant with the other goals. Spaling was third star, Pickard named second star. Pickard with 27 saves. I heard Jessiman's name a fair bit, he had three shots and plus one but no points.
Ads putting together a decent season. Good to see several future Preds playing well!
don't we have the option of bringing in ellis on emergency recall from junior? at least for ten games. not too familiar with the rules regarding it
Yes, we would have that option if we so desired and there was a shortage of defensemen in Nashville due to injury, illness, or suspension thereby creating an emergency condition.
I'm just not sure we'd go there yet...I think we'd see Poile make a trade if necessary or grab someone off the waiver wire before we brought up a junior defenseman this late in the season.
We do, but that would be just as bad because Ellis is not even close to being NHL ready yet.
but is he a better option of for the not ready fr prime time gang than yonkman? ellis may be able to overcome some shortcomings with quickness. yonkman will try to hypnotize with slow speed
Laakso should be fine soon. He had a small fracture around his ankle (malleolus) from blocking a shot. Could return as soon as this weekend, I hear. I don't know how viable a candidate for a call-up he would be after missing so much time, but at least should be good news for the Ads, assuming he gets past the first game before re-injuring himself this time.
Ads lost 4-2 tonight vs. Rockford. Ads are a decent team just too many giveaways and they don't shoot nearly enough. Way to much putzing around with the puck. Chet was okay, some of his rebounds were brutal though. Pretty great crowd tonight in Milwaukee. Jessiman scored, always noteworthy for a Rangers fan.

It's an organizational philosophy we try to ingrain in our prospects from an early age.
Preds extend affiliation with Admirals through 2011-12 season
In a busy Predators related news afternoon...the Predators and Admirals jointly announced...
Quote:
Milwaukee, WI--Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile and Milwaukee Admirals Governor/CEO Harris Turer jointly announced today that the Admirals will continue to serve as the Predators top developmental affiliate through the 2011-2012 season with a mutual option for the 2012-13 campaign. Per conditions of the agreement, the Admirals will continue to receive their roster from the Predators.
“We are extremely pleased to extend our affiliation with the Predators,” said Turer. “David Poile, [Assistant General Manager] Paul Fenton, [Director of Hockey Operations] Michael Santos and their staff are committed to developing players by creating a winning tradition in Milwaukee, as evidenced by the success we have had in our relationship with Nashville.”
Currently in their 12th season with Nashville, the third longest affiliation agreement in the AHL, the Admirals are 487-324-31-102 (.586) while serving as the Predators top farm club. The affiliation has been particularly fruitful over the course of the last seven seasons. In that time the Admirals have posted a 308-165-7-58 record (.633) and with eight more wins and 20 more points this year can become the first team in AHL history to post 40 or more wins and 90 or more points in seven consecutive seasons.
If you haven't already, I'd highly recommend you bookmark the Admirals Short Shifts blog for great coverage of our prospects in Milwaukee. Looks like we'll be together for a few more years yet!
Anybody know how Wilson's health is these days? Did the nerve stop flaring up completely or does he still get shots for it?
I notice he's had a few assists over the last few games but no goals and it seems his games have a minus on the plus-minus more than you'd like. His assists on Saturday, came on the power play and he had a -2 for the game in a 7-6 win.
I just wondered if he was skating as freely as he can. He did get one of the stars in their 1-0 win on Thursday.
