Skates well for a big man.

Arnason and Rissmiller go tonight, so im waiting to see if hes got legitimate competition for the 4th line center job.

He was obviously well schooled in the art of taking penalties.

I don't have a problem with him being a 4th line center on a Torts team.

He definitely has some size and moves well for a big man, looking for him to hopefully get a chance to play with some more skill just to see if he has some upside still. Hard to judge when he was playing with Byers and Maccarone.

I personally thought he looked like complete garbage...but that's only from one game. Might have just had a bad night.

Not impressed either but I'm hoping it was just nerves. He'll get another look tonight, albeit on a much less offensive line.

Thought he played pretty well tonight and at this point the 4th line center position is his to lose

Had a solid game tonight including a goal saving play. Still dont think he was worth a 3rd round pick when we could have signed a cheap UFA to fill that spot.

Our latest Marcel Hossa project.

There is always a contingent of Ranger fans who are always impressed w/ shielding the puck. I hope Boyle can develop to a point where he can do something with the puck, in addition to protecting it, but we'll have to wait and see if he can do it at an NHL level.

Marcel Hossa was 10x better then Boyle. Boyle looks like a fringe NHLer out there...Arnason didnt look any better.

I think Boyle is playing like a decent fourth line player with a bit more offense than his predecessor. He is very reminiscent of Jason Ward when he was with the Rangers. He has been the best 4th line type player during pre-season. Better than Arnason, Rissmiller, Voros, etc. Though Jordan Owens looked good tonight.

Boyle played quite a bit PK tonight. Could grow into that nicely, but seems like he has a lot to learn in that regard. The team is not looking good on PK right now.

Eh, Arnason was in on the Owens goal. I thought at first he should have been credited with an assist. It's more than I've seen from Boyle so far, who is his direct competition.
