Ducks are looking very passive right now. They're being hemmed in the neutral zone and their defensive zone, what little time theyve spent in the Nucks zone has been poorly controlled.

Canucks 1st powerplay now.

Odd, the Canucks have a rookie forward on the point on the powerplay.

Mitera needs to work on his skating. He's got the size to be a NHLer but he's more often late than not.

Edit. Mind you, it's his first game, Warg hasn't been any better.

he'll get there. its pretty obvious he's been out of the game for a year but he still looks promising.

Some notes from the period:
-MacMillan looks good, although a bit slow.
-McCue, well, that's his job but holy ****.
-Clark was solid for the most part
-Brittain is quite quick for his size. If he can bulk up while maintaining hi quickness he might be a good one.
-Koivu looks great, fast, tenacious
-Wisniewski seems faster than last year

Calder-Koivu-Selanne line towards the end of the period.

one of these things is not like the other.

In scrimmage on day 1, Mitera was actually quite fast the one time he tried (in a penalty shot).

But yeah, he looks a lot slower normally in game/scrimmage. Maybe he just isn't trying to go fast because of the injury?

He did make a nice back pass to Teemu though.

yea it was alright. im jsut really against the idea of calder being on this Ducks team. especially since Christensen already has a contract.

I think it's mostly about his agility in turning. Same thing with Warg.

**** yea Wiz. just rocks a guy with a clean open ice hits then handles the guy in the fight.

Parros needs to go out there and grab the first nhl guy he can, hopefully samuelsson. you dont let some non nhl guy get away with that.

Wisniewsky answered the bell for throwing an elbow on the rushing forward. Decent scrap.

Hehe, I love preseason. In 1 game and a period and a quarter, the Nucks have had 7 fights.

Bah Calder is useless. Why did they even invite him?

Bad call by the refs there. Scott off for holding or interference.

Niedermayer with a hold. The refs must have confused him with his brother.

It didn't seem like a penalty to me.

Bad call on Niedermayer, finishing your check is now a penalty. Calder missed a semi open net although he was kinda tied up. Koivu is awesome.

It wasn't, I'm a Nuck fan, and I thought that was perfectly played.

2-0 Canucks score on the Powerplay. The penalty killers were just standing around the entire time watching the Canucks's pretty passing -.-
