UPDATED: HFBoards.com Champions League Fantasy Hockey - Leagues Full

Summary:

We're starting a hfboards.com tiered ROTOfantasy hockey league. The concept is there will be 3-5 teams, and each year the top half of the teams in each league get promoted up to the next league, the bottom half of the teams in each league get demoted (relagated) for the next year.

I really want this to be a big event here, and we will have awards at the end of each year for each league, similar to the NHL awards. And at the end, you'll be able to proudly display a trophy avatars if you place high.

I'm in.

This is a very good idea.

This will be my 4th year in fantasy hockey. First pool was way before Al Gore had any good ideas.

Before Al Gore, pools were done with paper.

Groups of shady characters would gather in real rooms, with real chairs, and face each other, mano-o-mano to draft a real team for their fantasy leagues.

Thank God for Al Gore.

4 years experience, preference for roto. This tiered league sounds like an excellent idea.

...eating poutine and drinking beer. It is then that the young upstart surprises the crowd by taking Hasek and Roy in the 1st and 2nd rounds, slowly rising through the ranks all season before finally taking the money of his (slightly) older co-workers.

I've played for about 10 years and prefer roto (I'm not big on the H2H playoff luck involved and points league are too easy to skew, as my co-workers found out).

I'm interested. I lurk more than I post but I've been here for years.

Experience: 5 years
Finished (out of 6 teams): 1st twice, 2nd once, 3rd three times.
Currently involved in a third year keeper league.

I prefer H2H.

As far as league settings I'd recommend...

Rosters:

19 Big Club (3 C, 2 LW, 2 RW, 4 D, 2 G, 1 F, 5 BN, 2 IR): Keep 10
19 Farm: Keep All, Age (24 and under) and Games Played Limits (200 and under)

Stats: G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, W, GAA, SV%, SHO

Rules as normal, 3 min starts, no trade limit, no moves limit, etc. I prefer offline drafts (i.e. it could take place on this board) but I'm not sure time would permit that unless everybody was super into it and picked within a decent time. Anyway, regardless of if I'm picked this sounds like a nice idea, I hope it works out well.

One more thing I forgot to mention was that it might be just as interesting to turn this into a Champions League Dynasty league with 30 teams. There would be problems you'd run into with a tiered league since keepers (if you want to do keepers) would come into play. If we do 16x3=48 would the draft be held as one draft or two or three, etc? If we hold more than one draft more than one team will have Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc. Then when teams move up or down you'd run into the problem of who gets who? Maybe I'm over thinking it, I've never been involved in a tiered league, how it works interests me.

FYI - I'll start assigning members to leagues this weekend.

I'm also going to need one more person to commish the 3rd league.

Is the league I created part of the first 2?

If there are any spots left open for this, I'd love to join.

This will be my fourth year of fantasy hockey, and I have no preference between H2H or roto.
