I was about to make a thread about this.

It's some kind of demon with red eyes and it's completely badass.

Maybe it has to do with his "Sandman" nick name?

Maybe. But I still think he's a bad goalie. He's a Éric Fichaud clone.

It's the "Sandman", his nickname.

Nothing he can't paint over if (mostly when) he is moved or sent down Hamilton's way.

For a 3rd string goalie and an occasional number 2, he does pretty well.

Personnaly, if BG decide to get something for Halak ( pick or player), i would feel confortable with Sandford as backup goaltender. He did an incredible job in chicago when the team was weak.

And his performance tonight tell me hes a NHL player. Will never become a true no.1, but hes a verygood backup.

I was impressed with him last night, I would feel comfortable with him in a back-up role due to injury or trade.

that is a really harsh assessment.

Sanford is a quick and agile goalie with a strong glove hand. His problem is his height... he can be exposed up high. I'm not saying he's a number one because he hasnt been able to put a string of good games together, but he's effective in spot duty when he's not injuring his groin.

Fichaud was just bad in every way... every shot was a challenge for him

If you ask me, he's fantastic in that role. He would do pretty well as a backup and would be poor as a #1. While Halak is better than he is, I have a feeling that Halak will not finish his season in Montreal, and that Sandford will be our #2.

Uh, I don't know what some of you guys are watching but for a 3rd goalie, he's fantastic.
