I watched that Pirate episode. I just do not understand this show, what is it about? Seems like a wannabe secret detective type of a gig

Love these last 2 episodes. Among the best they have put out.

At it's heart Archer is an office comedy that plays off a group dynamic. They just happen to work for a private intelligence organization to create wacky scenarios.

This Pirate 3 part series is probably not the best place to start, you'll miss most of the inside jokes.

Basically as Sniper said it's an Office comedy, of sorts, set during whats supposed to be the 1960's.

I view the show as one giant Ego-fest, with each new episode one character pounding his or her ego on to another characters.

Krieger: [as his mechanical robot hand chokes Cheryl] Oh, God! Sorry!
[He shuts the hand off]
Cheryl: What are you doing?!
Krieger: I thought you said "start slacking off."
Cheryl: Not "slacking off"!

The creator is actually on record as saying they don't really have a clear identity for the time period. They have things like the Internet and portable GPS, yet all their monitors are CRT's.

It creates a weird style.

Season 2 DVD released on the 27th, new season coming on the 11th (?). Sometime in January.

Can't wait for both.

Funny this thread comes up. I'm Canadian so I don't really get to watch it (apparently we got it but now it's gotten cut), but I can't wait to get season 1 & 2 on Blu-Ray. From what I've seen on youtube and heard, I'm not making a mistaking purchasing both seasons. I have a feeling it's going to quickly become my favourite show on television!

Burned through every episode a few weeks ago after, ahem, "finding" them online, and I gotta say I love the way this show is done. Archer's just so damn funny, but the supporting cast provides just as many laughs in every situation to make the episodes enjoyable.

"I've never seen an ocelot!" was my BBM status for like three days.

Archer: You think that's funny? (slams drawer, causing a certain item to start....vibrating)
Gillette: Not compared to that.
Archer: W-What is that?
Gillette: Oh yeah
Archer: No...
Gillette: Yeah
Archer: No!
Gillette: Not a bumblebee, is it?
