Hopefully the promise of a powerplay goes beyond one game...

We need Howson to get us some Canadian teams for preseason, they always have their games on TV (I'm watching Sens-Habs in French right now)

Chimmer took a puck to the face, I think.

I hope Chimmer is okay. I'm assuming the hit on him was dirty? I see in the boxscore Belanger got a 5 min boarding and 10 min misconduct.

I really hope he's ok. How often do they break early for intermission. I've never heard of that. I'm assuming perhaps they aren't as hesistant to do so because its an exhibition game, but still....

update on dispatch blog

Blue Jackets left winger Jason Chimera was taken off the ice on a stretcher at 6:17 of the second period tonight in St. Paul after being checked hard into the glass by Minnesota center Eric Belanger.

Chimera fell to ice and settled flat on his back, his left hand moving back and forth and, a few moments later, his legs kicking in agony. Teammate Fredrik Modin hovered over him and appeared to be talking to him.

Belanger, who is not regarded as a dirty player, was given a five-minute boarding call and a game misconduct.

Rather than return to the ice immediately to play out the remaining 6:17 of the second, both teams went to the dressing room for a second intermission. They'll play a 26:17 third period.

That's one thing I hate about preseason games.

It looks like Filatov made the team, but not the way he wanted to.

The best revenge would be to convert here. Sadly I don't expect anything.

Good God... Bobby Mac says Modin was slow to get off the ice.

Modin "went to the bench slowly". SO frustrating if he's hurt again already.

When it rains it pours

Howson should sign Dominic Moore like right now.

Down 2-0, a 5 minute major power play for a fallen teammate, and the power play cannot muster 1 goal on the backup goalie. Rather disappointing
