this time last year krejci wasnt even talked about... no matter how you slice it, if this worked, the leafs got the bruins leading goal scorer at the age of 21 or 22 or whatever he is. which is what they needed.

I could do this all day but now we're going off WAY topic. For all we know, Kessel could pull a Heatley and say NO
1st off, i would easily take the toskala/gustavsson duo over khabibulan at this point. he's a good keeper but you can't deny he benefited playing behind that hawks team last year.

2nd Blake had a choice to go to toronto or another team, hemsky did not, though i'll grant you that hemsky is a better player than blake, are you happy now?

3rd Has gagner, or cogliano ever scored 20 goals in a year? grabo did as a rookie. I would take Kadri, Kessel, and Grabovski over gagner, cogliano, eberle any day, heck put paajarvi in instead of eberle, and i still take our players.

4th Komisarek > souray in our own zone, which BTW is what we signed him for. If you're asking about an O-dman, Kaberle > Souray, and i'd prolly take beauch's all around play > Lubo.

I could also do this all day, and better than you i might add. You're right, Kessel could pull a heatley and say no, but he won't because it's toronto we're talking about, not Edmonton.

Edmonton finished 2 points ahead of the leafs last year, this offseason Toronto brought in Komisarek, Beauchamin, Gustavsson, and now maybe Kessel, Edmonton signed Khabibulin and Comrie, it's hardly a question of which team had the better offseason. Enjoy finishing 23rd next year, we'll try to enjoy challenging for the playoffs.

It seems steep, but it's a crap return for Boston. Still better than the offersheet compensation, though.

If they have ~$2.2M in cap space, 5.4 is more than 2.2, so they are over the cap. I was mistaken, however, in saying that Van Ryn would not put them under.
That can't be right, it has Bozak having a cap hit of over 3 million, Schenn and Gustavsson having 2.5 million cap hits wtf?

All 3 players are on ELC's

That's taking bonuses into account. These players won't likely reach these bonuses.

I heard that since Kessel is injured the leafs have cap relief until he comes back from Injury so they have time to send guys like Bozak to the AHL or move guys. Is that sort of correct?

I personally think it's a good deal for the Leafs...the guy is very young, proved he can score and 5.2M$ might seem a lot now but in 3-4 years it will looked good + the Leafs had lots of cap space anyways.

Just saying that you can't expect him to score on a 40 goal pace this year.

I'm not 100% on the Leafs cap figures but that chart you linked shows more than 7M in ELC bonuses, which might possibly not be met or can be deferred.

Those numbers are wrong...

Leafs have just slightly over 6 million available before Kessel and a bonus cushion of 3 million.

This is the deal I'm hearing about. If it's true, it's good for the Leafs and alright for the Bruins.

To Boston: A 2010 1st round draft pick, a 2012 1st round draft pick, and a 2013 2nd round draft pick.

To Toronto: Phil Kessel.

You can't really blame them though. They have nothing to do there.

Kinda explains why some of their players want to leave and no body wants to go actually play there if they aren't already.

C'mon man, it's not that bad for the Bruins. If I were a Boston fan, I'd be a little pissed, but two 1sts and a 2nd is a good return.
