Ben Maxwell lookeed really good last night, he added alot of size and he`s so smooth with the puck, he always makes the right decision. Very cerebral player...Plekanec better keep playing the way he is, because I don`t think Maxwell is too far from playing in the NHL.

Weber looked good as well, I really paid attention to him defensively and he looks like he`s more polished. Same goes for Carle...

Gionta just does everything, he backchecks, forechecks, shoots, passes, hits, screens the goalie, he`s the opposite of Kovalev who is a high maintenance player...Gionta is very low maintenance, you don`t have to motivate this guy to play or remind him of his assignments on the ice. A player like this is so key for our young players, he`ll set a great example. Gionta`s contributions to the Habs will be measured in more than goals & assists

Neither Gionta or D'Agostini is a LW...

Read and vomit. Talk about making ridiculous comments after 1 preseason game. Yeah, the great Francis Bouillon who doesn't even have a job yet. So sick of this BS from these old dinosaurs in the media.

Cammalleri has played lots of LW in the past, in fact as recently as last year.

I liked what i saw in the 3rd period from the Pacioretty - Pleks - Gionta line. Anyone else miss Markov in that game though?

read the blanchard blog this a.m.
Glad to see pleks back with energy and working hard. I believe that gionta will rub off on him. I also agree with the posters that are saying that kovalev's east-west game was detrimental to pleks. His role will be better defined thid year; he will center line 2 not 1a and play a fast north-south game with gionta.

Don't get too excited about Plekanec's performance in the preseason. On the same date last year, Plek was on fire and we know what happened during the real season...

Just imagine putting together the fast starting team of last night and the strong ending team like tonight.
They all impressed me as well, especially Belle and Wyman, and Conboy... wow, I've never seen someone so interested in fighting when they were already down but we still need to see what else he can bring to the game.

what a painful game to watch, especially in the 1st, our PP was brutal.

I was disappointed in Pyatt, hoped to see him stick out more, and Conboy wasn't playing his usual game. I thought Maxwell struggled early on and aside from Carle, I wasn't too impressed with the D.

I thought Gionta was our best player, I said at the time we signed him that fans will love him, despite his huge contract he's always buzzing around with impressive speed and always works hard. I do hope they at least try Cam Gomer Gio to at least see what it can do, I like A Kosty with Gomer cause it makes sense to put one of your best shooters with your best setup guy, but i just want to see what the mini me line could do together.

I've been a fan of Pleks and expect him to have a good year, I think he will do well under JM.

It's going to be fun watching Neilson and Conboy in Hamilton as they could end up on the same line, this should be another great year to watch the Dogs. Plus Sanford was great in the A last year, so the Dogs should have better goaltending.

I'm excited to see what this team can do after the preseason games, when JM cuts the squad down to 23 and gets the team working on his system. Should be an exciting year in Habland.

Only watched the first but Gionta is the man. He wins so many battles its insanity for a guy his size.

Both Stewart and Neilson will go against middleweights. Both guys have the potential to be **** disturbers while Laraque....fights heavyweights.

Why wanting to see Stewart doing something like what Nielson did is stupid? What do you want to see Stewart doing? Play good defense? Stewart and Nielson are sharing the exact same role 'cause neither are known as the best fighter of the league, and everybody wouldn't mind going against them while nobody want to take Laraque who only fights heavyweights.
I want to see stewart fight when it is needed like when he fought ott or when he fought o'brien sticking up for koivu times that matter not just for the sake of getting in a fight. I think neilson will be perfect to replace flinn I just dont think he has the speed or pk ability that stewart has. stewart was great on the pk against florida and had always been a pk specialist in the ohl and in cincy so i think he could fill that role

2 Excellent and accurate points. Will the apologists for the lazy, spoiled prima-donna style players (of which we've had and presently have even 1 too many of) please take note. If you're making millions to play a GAME, you shouldn't need babysitting and/or reminders to actually compete. To try. To care about your team and your role.

im hoping the same thing. i no its only 1 game, but gionta with pleks might help pleks develop into an even more productive and feisty player. i almost get the sense thats pleks feels lucky to be playing with a hardworker like gionta and will do what it takes to keep playing with him. again, i no its only one game but i like what gionta was doing for pleks game.

I'm going to the game tonight so I'm very happy to see that roster. I wish Gio would be there too, but at least I get 2 out of 3 and Andrei.
