Modin---one and done, here we go again!

It took everybody's favorite "board warrior" exactly one game, actually about half a game to go down with yet another injury. Can we please, please, please cut him already so our "glut" of wingers is eased and we don't waste a roster spot on him when there are hungry, physical young guys that can contribute more!!!

I don't want to hear anything about him being a 20 goal scorer, it's been YEARS since that happened and he was on a line where just about anybody could have got 20 goals. He's finished!

Go ahead and bring the hate Modin appologists...

Hon? I don't know if you've been keeping up on current events, but there was this one year where a lockout occurred, and no NHL hockey was played, and, y'know, they kind of came up with a new CBA at the end finally, and one of the things that has been there all this time is that you can't "cut" people. Contracts are GUARANTEED. It's been that way for four years.

I'd speculate on how you've managed to go this long without being aware of that, but then I'd probably get infracted.

Cutting Modin would be beyond idiotic. It would only spread out his cap hit. No idea why you would want to do that.

I was being overlydramatic, obviously I know you can't cut him, but it's fun to dream....

Maybe he can be "encouraged" to retire?

Someone should go Nancy Kerrigan on his ass . Although...he could probably do it on his own.

So how much of your original post should be take seriously?

Honestly, I don't know why you came jonesing for an argument or an I-told-you-so. At best, it seemed people were just hoping he could finally stay healthy because, when he can/does, he can b helpful to the team.

Oh, please.

There is no "cutting players" with pro contracts in the NHL. It does not exist. Therefore, an extended rant advocating such an action, followed by "I'm just being dramatic" when you're called on it, has only two possible purposes:
1) Ignorance (willful or otherwise) of the way the NHL works followed by dishonesty in the reply, or
2) Trolling.

One is not exactly a credit to your character, and the other is why G-d gave us the "Report Post" button.

CA is a well known Red Wings fan/"Red Jackets" fan.

He just can't wait until he gets to start these kind of threads.

Possible legitimate topic asking to become a flame-fest. Closed.
