Jones in goal again today, going for his 4th straight shutout.

EDIT: So much for that, Streak ends at 187:59.

Nope, he still sucks. He only had one assist in that 6-0 game. Time to cut bait.

Someone made a thread about this on the main prospects board, and he has like 45 points in his last 26 games since the WJHC. That's pretty darn impressive. Love our prospects. Never been more excited about our young guys ever.

That's probably aiming a bit high. Schenn will still have to add some strength before he should be getting more ice time than Handzus and Stoll. The good thing is that he turns 19 in August

What's really amazing about two of the WHL guys (Kozun & Schenn) are that while tearing up the scoresheets they're doing it in different fashion:

Schenn is really coming into his own as a leader and has the majority of his 94 points even-strength. This guy absolutely is a terror 4-on-4 and while killing penalties also has 7 short-handed assists this year. He probably will need a season to build up a little more muscle but after that should be ready for the NHL.

Kozun has vision and his numbers really project him as a PP specialist: he's single-handedly been on 44% of his team's PP points and this is over a 2-year stretch where the team as a whole has scored 219 PP goals and led the league with a combined 2-year average of 29.3%. (Note: this PP went under 15% when Kozun went to the WJHC) Kozun could theoretically make it to the NHL a year or two after Schenn but if he only gets faster and smarter could technically make a 20% PP even better.

Robbie Czarnik update from tonight against Windsor.

Played an absolutely tremendous game. Has speed, skill and perhaps even an underdeveloped mean streak. He's been unstoppable lately and now has 8 points in his last three games. He finished with 2 goals and an assist tonight. First goal was all Tyler Brown as he chipped the puck around Cam Fowler, beat him to the outside and fed a one handed pass to a streaking Czarnik for the tap in. Second goal was off a turnover by Mark Cundari off the faceoff, as Czarnik swarmed him, stole the puck and put it past Phil Grubauer. He earned a second period assist on Tyler Brown's goal, this time by returning the favor to Brown by doing all the work. He exploded into the offensive zone, got through one Windsor defender, used a toe drag on the next to get a shot off that was partially blocked right to Brown for the goal. In the second, he also picked up a pretty vicious checking from behind penalty as he tried to beat out Marc Cantin for a loose puck, and mushed his head into the end glass with his forearm. Cantin was bleeding from the head area and Windsor was rightfully calling for more than the two minutes he received. Still an impressive performance by a player who's turned heads since he joined the league.

I think it's more likely that Schenn has another year in Brandon. But 94 points in 57 games, WOW!

I agree, he's going to become a victim of the numbers game since I doubt the team will be able to shed themselves of Stoll or Handzus. Not a bad problem to have however. Being able to develop a player of this caliber a little longer isn't a bad thing and I want Schenn to win a gold medal in Buffalo next January. A little revenge would be a good thing for him. That, to go along with his memorial cup this year , should prepare him to step in at the NHL level the year after.

I hope not for his sake and mine.

The kid deserves to be up here and I sure hope DL and TM sees that as well.

Czarnik is our best forward prospect after Schenn IMO, he's finally putting it all together, amazing what a change of scenery can do.
