I'd prefer that Schenn become who he was constantly compared to prior to the draft. Mike Richards.

Schenn isn't as physical as Mike Richards

He can be when he wants to.

It's not like Mike Richards is a physically imposing player either.

Hmm, didn't know Jordin Nolan was the son of Ted Nolan. I think this kid at 7th round pick may be a steal.

Calgary is winning 2-1 with 13:17 left in the 2nd.. If they win this game, they win the WHL Championship! Martin Jones got an assist on one of the goals haha

11 years to the day after winning their first WHL title, the Calgary Hitmen beat the Tri-City Americans in 5 games to capture the Ed Chynoweth Cup. Congratulations to Jones and Kozun! On to the Memorial Cup!

The only remaining team to be determined is the winner of the QMJHL Finals between Saint John and Moncton. The series is tied 2-2. Future 2010 draft prospects Brandon Gormley (Moncton) and Stanislav Galiev (Saint John) are facing off in the finals.

One of those two clubs along with the Windsor Spitfires (OHL), with 2010 top prospects Taylor Hall and Cam Fowler, the Calgary Hitmen (WHL), and the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) will make up the four teams competing for the Memorial Cup. This should make for a very competitive and exciting tournament, which will be televised on the NHL Network.

Man, it's really too bad Barrie didn't advance, we could've had 4 Kings prospects in the Memorial Cup tournament. Oh well, I guess Kyle Clifford got the better end of the deal, he's going to be playing in the AHL East Finals with the Monarchs.

It'll be nice to see Schenn, Kozun and Jones in the Memorial Cup though, Kings prospect ftw!

Kozun left Game 5 tonight after going feet first into the end boards and he never came back. He did get on the ice (in full equipment) to skate with the cup, so hopefully he's good to go for the Mem Cup.

Nice turn around for Jones who was awful in round one.

Don't be surprised to see Jones spend the season in Ontario, where he'll get all the ice time he can handle. That is unless Zatkoff plays badly at the start of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Eberg being part of manchester. I believe he signed a two-way contract, did he not?

Nope, Ersberg is on a one-way deal.

He will be subject to waivers if he's to be assigned to Manchester no matter if he signed a two-way contract or not... But I don't think he did.

Jones will definitely be in Manchester.. It's like saying Zatkoff shouldn't have been in Manchester this season because Jonathan Bernier was going to get most of the minutes. I think further down the road, it'll be a tandem of Bernier and Jones.. Zatkoff will be an AHLer for quite some time, Quick will be expendable and will be dealt sooner or later.

Jonathan Bernier is our Martin Brodeur.. ya, I said it

Zatkoff did spend a season in Ontario while Bernier and Taylor played Manchester so it's not entirely unlikely for Jones to end up playing a season there as well. In fact that's how I'd do it for the first year, Zatkoff playing most of the season in Manchester and Jones playing in Ontario, just to maximize their time on ice. And like Bernier and Zatkoff, have them both come to Manchester the next year and have Berube start in Ontario.

We'll see though!

I still think Eberg's got nhl skills. He just needs to regain his confidence, which means, he needs to play somewhere.

I agree, though if he's assigned to the minors he probably either A. gets picked up on waivers by a team in need of a backup or B. returns to Sweden.

He certainly is good enough to be the backup guy on some team... If Jason Labarbera can find his role and succeed as a backup then so can Ersberg. It's a shame he had such a poor start to the season, Murray clearly lost all confidence in the guy and never really gave him a fair chance after that. Now the writing is on the wall and barring an injury to Quick or Bernier he's likely to be buried or moved.
