Does Phil go back to center?

I heard yesterday that Phil has expressed an interest to return to his natural position. Do you guys feel this is a good move, if he does?

I think he's better off at the wing, but we'll see.

changing from W to C is hard to do in the NHL, so i think he'll just stick to playing wing

Not really interested in seeing him there. Seems like he's always been projected as a winger.

Really? I never even thought of him as a center. Seems to be pretty good on the wing already, but I'm sure he knows what he's talking about

Well, I don't think we have anything to lose giving him a shot, but I hope he realizes that centermen need to be alot more defensively aware than he's been in the past. He's going to need to change his game a bit if he wants to stick there.

I feel like his production would go down if he were to play centre. He doesn't have the right mind set to be a centre in my opinion. I do not see an issue with his mindset though because we need someone to just worry about scoring!

A Boston fan said:

"He has no idea what's good for him. He really WANTS To play centre, as much as possible, but he's horrible there."

Considering everything Kessel brings to the table, he has a much bigger chance at being a star player on the wing than up the middle. He just doesn't have the size or playmaking to be an exceptional center but he has the speed and shot to be a 40 goal guy.

I'd use him on the wing.

I just like the idea of him using speed on the outside.

Can't wait.

Bozak and Grabo will tide us over until then. Grabos contract ends when Kadri's career will begin. By then Bozak will have a few years under his belt and become quite the 1/2 punch with Kadri.

I'm not sure why we would waste his tremendous outside speed, by placing him in the center posistion.

He was a centre before he played in Boston, correct?

It would be pretty ****in weird mane..... I think he would score a load of goals on the wing... better to do that snipa thang... but he will succeed no matter what happens. I think Kessel is not good on faceoffs?? I think RW wants him playing as a winger, staying like still ballin y'all know what I'm saying.

Kessel is also not the best defensive forward, and RW's centers always have to play very solid defensively. He doesn't like loose, soft minded centers. RW throws them away and spanks that thang....

According to Wilson he wants to play Phil with a play-making Centre.....i'd take this as meaning he's going to stay winger.

Phil's skillset is best used on the wing.

lol

There's no way we ever get Toews. I'd settle for Savard next year. He can retire near in his hometown and put up 100 points with Kessel before setting the stage for Kadri. Too perfect.

Ron Wilson will have him on the wing. It only makes sense.

Yup, we already have too many Centers.....plus Kessel doesn't fill a need at Centre. We are currently missing a playmaker....kessel isn't that....he was brought in to be our elite scoring RW'er (which we didn't have before the trade)

Kessel wont be going back to Center - not on a Burke & Wilson team. He's too small, not a playmaker and isn't big enough. He was brought in to score flying down the wing.
