And that's the problem. He played slightly better hockey than a guy who's under contract with the Dogs with probably in mind of making him the 13th forward.....of the Dogs. Now, if Neilson could improve his defensive play because of Jacques Martin and he doesn't care against who he drops, I can tell you that Stewart being slightly better in the hockey department might not mind as much if he doesn't bring some other things to the table.

Now, Neilson shouldn't make it. How many contracts are we at? 49? Is Neilson worth #50? Will see. But Stewart needs to much superior to Neilson in every facet of the game.

So the over/under on the number of times Pierre McGuire gushes all over his new favorite team, the Leafs, is set at 3 for tonight.

I am taking the over.

I don't get tsn2, but even if I did, I'd probably stick to RDS.

He didn't play last night, played the previous two, though.

No kidding...last week during the Bruins vs. Leafs broadcast he could not stop blasting Gainey and the habs for anything/everything and he went on and on about the Leafs...

McGuire lobbying for a job with his buddy Burkie?

I hope Neilson will continue to outmatch Stewart! Even if Stewart play a little better than him, I don't really care for the role he'll have to do in the club this year. I prefer a good fighter who's not afraid to drop the gloves.

I think he should call him up and make a deal. You Crosby don't score and I won't hit you.

funny little story about that...

My friend who played for Drummondville at the time once took a run at Crosby and hit him pretty hard. His next shift, Nielson grabbed him and told him "Touch Sidney again and you die"

My friend didnt touch Crosby the rest of the year.

I laughed when he told me this the other day

Neilson did a good job riding shotgun for Crosby. Kevin Cormier would ask him to go every game but he'd just say no. Tough kid though.

I already like that guy. The more i hear from him, to more i think that he should start the year with us on the fourth line. Stewart didn't prove enough that he cares about that job.

And Martin Mcguire said that Neilson already has the respect from the veteran of the team... Something that's rare!

That article definitely sheds some light on him. I figured he was just a terrible goon but at the very least he understands that just being a goon won't get him a job.

Of course, there's still the matter of is he IS good enough to play in the NHL.

Glad to see Cammalleri, Gomez, Gionta, Kostitsyn, Pacioretty, Latendresse, D'Agostini, Lapierre etc.. all playing tonight. Our stronger forward lineup so far this pre-season.

Wanted to see Subban again though.

i saw kevin cormier and nielson fight many time.....cormier was the king no doubt but nielson never ack down from him. Also Jonathan Tremblay from bathurst was really tough too

those 3 were the top heavyweight in the Q back then and H.M to former habs prospects Jimmy Bonneau
