He basically just reaffirmed that he was shy and has character issues, and his surgery didn't go well, he strongly believes he peaked last season and it's only going to go down from here. Nothing new really.

Very nice. Did he confirm he likes to sleep with teammates girlfriends? Or steal their wallets for gamling money?

Did anyone hear Gord Stellick's question to Phil Kessel?

Gord Stellick: Is that why you need the new contract? For poker losses?

Phil Kessel: Yeah, ...... right!!

It seems as though Gord Stellick's poker related question really pissed off Phil Kessel.

yea, i listened.

- surgery went well, nov come back
- continue solo practicing/skating for the time being
- was not a fan of any 1 team growing up (wisconsin?)
- The thrashers were not attractive to him, he wants hockey fans
- he knows there are lofty expectations of him
- he shoots high 70's in golf
- needed a new contract due to gambling debts (joke, he likes poker)
- talked about his early life coaches.

just a get to know him sort of thing... but if you want to actually see/hear something that shows some of her personality, watch the kessel - NHL's finest clip - where he talks about cancer and interacts with the kids.

It's a great sign that he keeps saying he loves h(a)ckey and wants to play for real fans.

We'll see how he likes the fishbowl.

And I like how he keeps saying hAckey.

You're thinking of kostopolous, who likes to steal teammates girlfriends' purses and sleep with gamblers.

Nice "bubbler" reference! Not many know about that.

That interview was vintage Phil, if a 21 year old can be vintage. He IS shy even on the phone. He's done interviews on the radio here in Madison and he sounds exactly the same. He is not arrogant or a snob; just a kid who has been under the microscope since he was about 8 years old. I'm sure he'll be quite nervous during interviews for a while.

It's very interesting reading all of the posts on all of the threads. You (fans) are very knowledgeable, but that is well known in the US hockey community.

My white cap with the blue Leaf is ordered, Center Ice on DISH Network is ordered, now welcome me as the newest Leaf's fan, please!!

I welcome you! Be prepared for the scorn of most other fans who are jealous that so many people love our team, win or lose.

I have a sweet spot for the original 6, especially the Canadian teams...it's called RESPECT. True hockey fans, and there are many here in Madison, know it's been a tough recent past for Toranto (), but that is soon to change!

I've always wanted to attend an NHL game in Toronto or Montreal to be at the game's roots.....Toronto is only about 600 miles so maybe this year............
