Strange how MDZ really was not even considered for Team Canada for the WJC... Whomever made the team over MDZ better be NHL all stars now!! lol

Not trying to read too much into the Bourque scratch because Palmieri also played well in the August camp but some other players who are/were considered locks to make the team are playing.

Kreider scored on the PP, tipping in a point shot. Also hit the pipe earlier. Stepan got the second assist on the goal.

1-0 USA halfway through

Kreider is playing on a PP unit with Stepan and Schroeder. Kreider plays the high slot on the PP.

Stepan,Kristo and Warsofsky are the tri-captains of the team.

Kreider scores again on the PP, nice

I'm not watching, just following live stat updates from here:

http://www.fightingsioux.com/newLive...b_oem_id=13500

And I got the details on the first goal from someone in the thread on the WJC board

For some bizarre reason I get Fox Sports Central... which is nice, since I can watch.

Kreider looks good, even though he just hauled someone down and took a penalty.

So two assists for Stepan (one on an empty netter) and two goals by Kreider. Will probably watch the game tomorrow

USA wins it 4-2. Stepan assisted on the empty net goal to make it 4-2, he ends with 2 assists. Kreider with 2 goals

22 players will be on the roster. They will cut down to 23/24 players by Sunday. Make 1/2 more cuts by Wednesday. Kreider looked like Joe Nieuwendyk on the first goal deflecting the point shot. He used his speed to hunt down loose pucks on the PP. Named player of the game.

Pretty much everything you could want out of Kreider.

Scored 2 goals by planting his behind in front of the net and using his reach/body to his advantage. He also came out in the first period ready to throw his weight around and landed a couple of strong hits.

But IMO his most impressive play was the pipe he hit in the second - accepted a stretch pass at the blueline, blew between the defenders with his speed, and snapped a quick and strong wrister over the UND goalie's right shoulder only to hit the iron. A hat trick would have been cool but I guess you can't have everything...

Very good for Kreider. If he was put on the powerplay (playing with Stepan and Schroeder I would assume it's the #1 PP) and scored twice then Blais looks to have a lot of confidence in him. I have a good feeling we will be seeing all 3 of Bourque, Kreider and Stepan.

im glad kreider is playing in college hockey. i get the impression that if he was playing with kids his age or younger hed be able to just so physically dominate that he wouldnt improve other aspects of his game needed to become a solid NHL player. hopefully this performance gets him on the WJC team.

I think we all needed that extra bit of 'reassurance' on the Kreider pick, while he hasn't been doing as well as I and many others thought he could do in NCAA play, he has proved that he can take on a higher level of play. It seems to me like he logged a solid amount of minutes which he seemed to lack playing with Boston.

I needed to watch a game like this from Kreider. It was great and I'm very excited.
