haha yeah, idk about that one bud.

perhaps Ottawa's 1st round considering it will probably be a low pick.

or maybe gagne for volchenkov straight up would work considering volchenkov is an UFA.

Nobody asked what offer is fair. His response was basically that he doesn't have an interest in parting with Gagne unless someone overpays. Frankly, I would probably ask for more than that.

Gagne is worth more than a late first round pick. Trading Gagne for draft picks now makes little sense any way. Must be getting back useful players for this season

I dont know why you wouldn't part with gagne at this point. He's constantly injured and it's pretty blatant that he's not the player he used to be. If someone would be willing to give us a 1st round pick, maybe at the draft, to take him and his contract, i'd consider the offer.

He wont be traded unless its for a good goalie. Plus he has a NTC

I know Gagne is still a really good player. BUT he is not the 2005 Olympic calibre Gagne anymore. He has missed ALOT of games over the past 4 years with injury problems.

5 years ago, done deal.
now, he isnt worth it.

i agree, but seldom believe that he "isn't worth it" because gagne has shown that he is capable of bouncing back and being a great player, as he did last year.

Because this team is in win-now mode and has no excess scoring. He's worth a lot more to this team than a first round pick. 74 points last year and on a pace this year that projects to like 55+ points over a full season and you want to just dump his contract? Child please.

I never claimed anything about his worth. I'm simply not interested in getting rid of one of this team's few veteran scorers and leaders for a rental and a role player. Maybe he's not an olympian anymore (tough to judge in an injury season), but he's worth a hell of a lot more than that to me.

I doubt he's even moved for a good goalie. Holmgren doesn't seem to place enough emphasis on the position to give up a guy like Gagne, who means a lot more to the team he's on that any teams looking to get him.

At the draft, this team will still be in win-now mode. By the time a draft pick makes the team we'll be saddled with aging Prongers and Brieres. That's not exactly the timeframe we're looking at winning in.

Any team that has a "good goalie" available, will not want Gagne. They will want younger and cheaper assets

You guys are all INSANE. If the Flyers recieved an offer of a 1st and a 2nd for Gagne you PULL THE TRIGGER and flip the first to Florida for Vokoun and bam, we have a legit cup contender.

I LOVE Gagne, but the Flyers need to make cap space for a quality goalie. I'd rather move Hartnell, but seriously, if we got a good deal for Gagne I'd let him go.

Moving Gagne makes space to give Maroon or Matsumoto some decent icetime as well.

Ah, the missing pieces to our puzzle! I should have thought of them sooner.
