I'd be cool if Joe Colborne could sneak on to this list. I agree that all the guys mentioned before him are better though.

Isn't Tavares more effective on the wing?

No. This is just a myth generated by people who assume Tavares is a terrible skater. I'm pretty sure after seeing him in the NHL now, people realize he isn't even close to being as bad as he is perceived to be, and actually has average skating at the moment.

JT is pretty good on faceoffs, and you need to give a player like him space to make plays, and the ability to "roam" more. He's going to need time to continue to improve on his feet and become a better two-way player, but I think that moving him from center is a mistake.

Hate so sound like a homer but Josefson has a good shot to become the highest scoring 18 year old in SEL history this season. 11 points in 9 preseason games, led the Nordic Tourney in points and had 3 points in his teams opening game yesterday.

Just because a player was picked before him doesn't make him a better prospect.

Grachev is technically listed as a center but he moves around too much. I would add him to the list as 9,10 or an HM.

Schroder should not be in the top 10.

Not to derail this, but doesn't Kane fit better as a winger than a centre?

I sincerely doubt that. Daniel Sedin put up 42 points as an 18 year old. Naslund had 40 points in 39 games. I doubt he even comes close to matching those two.

That being said he's still a terrific prospect.

Everyone puts their team's top prospect in slot 10 or "HM" on these lists. It's the only reason why half the people even make a list, to squeeze their own prospect in.

I'm pretty sure I'm not biased when making lists.

I generally tend to agree with your statement and I assume that being from Coquitlam that you are a Canuck fan talking about your own prospect, but considering other names on most of the lists already posted I don't see why Schroeder wouldn't be at par with more than a few of them so I don't think someone slotting him in at 10 is unreasonable. I've only seen about half the players mentioned actually play and certainly not enough to definitively comapre them so if I were to make a list half would be slotted by reputation or hype. It's the nature of the beast. I can go down these lists and list who I think is overhyped, but honestly I don't know enough of each player.

Go on the Canuck board and check out the 'Hodgson vs Schneider' thread. Unbiased opinions (both Nuck prospects). Concencess is that Hodgson is clearly better, but Schneider is at least comparable. If I were to make a list I'm pretty sure Shroeder would be in my top 10.
