Legendary 1979 Fotiu/Durbano Stick Fight at MSG Video

I contend that Nick Fotiu's adversary in this on ice violence Steve Durbano was the craziest Mutha ever to lace them up.

Durbano got a 5 minute match for attempt to injure, a Ten Minute misconduct and 2 game Misconducts for this particular part of nuttiness.

The end of the clip is the most hilarious exit to the dressing room ever.

Durbano was certainly nuts. I'm not sure he was any more nuts than a few others like Eddie Shack or Bob Gassoff. More recently Mike Danton for one comes to mind.

What a classic. Durbano was nuts -reminds me of the time he came off the bench to
smack Bobby Hull in the WHA.

I have the video of that, although it's poor quality. I'm pretty sure that's where Durbano tries to rip Bobby Hull's toupee off and throw it in the crowd.

I remember a game of the week in the middle 70's Flyers vs Blues, where Durbano went nuts and skated past the Flyers bench and swung his stick and knocked out 2-3 teeth on the Flyers team trainer....

I am friends with 2 guys who played on that Bulls squad and the stories I have been told...about this guy and some of the future stars of the NHL who were just earning their pro stripes down in Alabama.

that was awesome. I love your presentation of the raw video without the voice over commentary. I actually learn more from reading too and you can fit in more info than you otherwise could in spoken form.
