Hey, I'm not saying the vets were good. I'm just saying it's hard for a team to get going if when the penalties are so one sided.

I was liking the game until Lee started making phantom calls.

Some of our vets were downright horrendous.

Pouliot and Schremp are done IMO. With Schremp it's a little more obvious, but Pouliot hasn't gotten the games and he looks...like Pouliot, when he does play. He got passed easily this training camp.

I think that Jacques made the team tonight with his 2nd goal of the pre-season. That's bad news for MacIntyre.

Comrie looked good, again.

Hemsky looks asleep or disinterested.

The forwards are too small and not physical.

You could almost see the relief on the faces of Comrie and O'Sullivan when Quinn finally sent Cogliano out there with them instead of Hands of Stone.
Marchant.....i mean Cogliano has hands?

One of the last questions on the GDT was who is playing tomorrow. This was from Soli this afternoon:

Penner - Pouliot - Eberle
Moreau - Gagner - Pisani
Nilsson - Brule -
MacIntyre - Schremp - Reddox

Lubo
Chorney

JDD
DD

Didn't catch it all, but these are the tentative lines and who's playing tomorrow.

Interesting echo here.

Was I talking about Horcoff?

Although I can understand the consternation.

Brule isn't getting cut on the back of that game thats for sure. He was very good considering his linemates... decent penalty killing and good aggressiveness.

Thank god I didn't pay for my tickets tomorrow night... if thats the kind of effort I'm gonna see from some of the vets.

I'm off to play some hockey and take out my anger on unwitting forwards

Brennan was in the box a lot tonight. Maybe his methods are a tad on the bush league side. I think he doesn't make the team...but he's had a good run and we may not have seen the last of him.

Among our forwards tonight: Penner was a powerhouse. Very strong game. Its looking more & more like he's going to have a breakout season.

I don't know that any forward was truly terrible.

I blame this game on 2 things: Goaltending & defence.

You can say it was a lack of discipline...but...the worst PIMS we took went to D-men and it all goes back to being generally docile.

Strudweak. Trying to get a pretzel-stick backhand past the winger...not gonna happen Struddy.

I mean...this guy leads the league in puking the puck up with backhanded plays! He's not even cognizant of it. Just sad.

He's NOT a 7th D-man on MY Oiler roster. It makes no sense to give him that job right now. The AHLers can easily contribute more with a developmental benefit.

Oilers: 0-0-0
Everyone else: 0-0-0

Just gotta keep people honest here.

I thought Brule looked decent and had something going with Penner. Brule gives us some aspect of physical play as well so I can see him making the club.

I sure hope they change their minds after this game. Icing that line up is just a waste of good practice time. The real team needs as much time on the ice as they can get. Putting that mess out there tomorrow night won't do anyone a bit of good.

All i know is that based on tonights game if Eberle plays like he has in the past preseason games he is a lock for this team because he will help us win. Book it.

Man I so agree with you on the Strudwick comment. I love the guy but c'mon! Staios should be our 6/7 guy and be drawing in and out with Chorney or Peckham.

How good is he on the dot, though? F/O % is one of those things I don't really keep track of.

Also won a couple faceoffs. Cogliano showed signs of life in that aspect as well.

at least he can complete a pass...and his speed is a significant improvement over Stone's feet of well.....stone.

...as you can see, I'm not on the Ryan Stone bandwagon.

Exactly what I was saying in the game thread. Its time to start penciling in our starting lineup instead of screwing around.

We need the starters learning/executing the system before november..

OMG I sure hope they round that lineup out with Hemsky, Grebs and Gilbert at least.

Well, I guess I get to see Sugartits live once before he's gone, so thats good.
