krüger is a big fat disappointment. he can't repeat his 5 points performance. today only 1+2. definitely a bust. sad.
I feel sorry for Chicago who wasted a draft pick on a kid who can't play with the big boys, a crippled Floppa is putting up two points per game and this Krüger fella only bothers to chip in one point per game...

yeah, a further prove that chicago should stop drafting europeans.
What is the usual attendance at an SEL game? When I watch the highlights the arena is packed but then when I read that the max capacity at most arenas is 5-8 thousand with the exception of Frolunda which seats 12 thousand I thought this must be a mistake. How could the attendance be around the same as in the AHL and how come it is so much louder?

Wow that looks amazing, maybe its just the atmosphere in Europe with the singing and chanting. then because it is two times as loud as say OHL arenas so it seems like their is twice as many people. Also when you look at the images, and highlights it rivals even some dare I say NHL arenas.

SEL crowds are ahead of NHL crowds when it comes to atmosphere. Mostly because of the football culture which is carried over to the hockey teams. Having said that, watching the support of a team like the Penguins last year was impressive, but you don't see this in the NHL:
There's also a ton of creative chants and not just "Go [team] x 100"
I made a joke earlier about Frölunda, but they also have a great crowd and so do some other teams in the SEL.

Yes you dare say NHL arenas. Except obviously the Canadian teams(except the ACC which always seems dead quite) there are only a few American NHL teams who are even close I'd say. Heck, you can probably find more atmosphere in a Swedish tier3 rink than Tampa.

That's representative of about 1 game out of 40, when the soccer fans show up.
Wow... thats amazing!
And it makes me wonder too... Because here in Finland soccer fans hate hockey. They bash it all the time and actually they focus more energy into bashing hockey than watching football. It's not same in Sweden? Football fans actually follow hockey too? I wish that it would be same in Finland too since hockey fans like football here. Maybe it's because football is number #2 sport here so they are bitter or something.
Is soccer number #1 sport in Sweden or are soccer and hockey even?
In terms of TV ratings and people showing up for the games hockey is bigger, but the media disparity in favor of soccer is enormous, they probably have more articles about Zlatan than hockey on any given day. And I think you all know, what is written in the media determines the talking points.
I do think that soccer fans follow hockey and vice versa, I think many people are both, I haven't met any soccer fans or hockey fans that disregard the other sport out of hand at all that I can remember. Also, most of the time when we're talking about domestic leagues (in Sweden) what particular sport being played is often not as important as beating another city/municipality.

Man, it was DEAD QUIET when DIF and SAIK played just recently at SAIKs home-ice (DIF won 3-0). I mean, i've never experienced an arena so quiet, what's up?

Hey guys.... what are your opinions on Eric Beaudoin w/ Rogle BK? I seen him in junior and thought he was a pretty good prospect. He already matched last years totals, why the jump? Is he just getting a lot more ice this year with a new team? Haven't seen him in years, how is his skating? I'm wondering if he has NHL in his future, I'd love to see him make it after all! Thanks. any comments on Kent McDonell also welcome, another guelph storm grad.
I saw Eric often when he played in Mora before they dropped out SEL, his efforts were pretty good.
Then he played for LHC, a top club, he was not a succéss for them.
And now he's playing in Rögle, he's not very good or bad.
Kent McDonald was great in Skellefteå, but in the squad of the current champions FBK he's not a star.
He's what you would call filling or padding.

Great is an overstatement. Kent was pretty good the first year when we had Perra Johnsson as our coach, then when Särkijärvi came he wasn't good at all. I think mostly because Särkijärvi didn't like him, but that's how it is sometimes.
He had quite a hefty salary in Skellefteå, and he didn't produce enough.
As a team with someone else he might be the best, but as I see it he has several weaknesses. He's great at creating good atmosphere with the players, but he lacks quite a bit in the tactical part.
Anyway, I still have a place in my heart for the man. What he did for us in our first two seasons was great.
IMO BÅG should have at least one championship left to prove his skills,
It takes more than a great team to win the olympics and the wc the same year.
2006-the best year ever, Färjestad and Tre Kronor was ****ing awesome
